Thought about going to this ... then remembered that I have TTB tix (Jacksonville) for the same night!
I am flying to Cleveland that weekend to see Tragically Hip - figures that a whole bunch of shows converge around the same time.
Jan. 17 and 18 is the Sunshine Music Festival, St. Pete and Boca Raton - TTB, D Betts etc.
So Dickey bee lines it to Florida right after this Charlotte show 
Sad news is Dickey's older brother is in bad shape healthwise and the January tour leg is in jeopardy. Thoughts and Prayers to the Betts Family.

And hope there is advance notice of a cancellation. snowflake is planning on coming in from Minnesota a day early and that means some big bucks for air travel and hotel accomodations......

Hey Sunshine and Blues fans! Unfortunately, due to a family emergency Dickey Betts will no longer be attending the festival this year and we wish him and his family the very best. However, we have a fantastic replacement who will be keeping the ?#?music? and ?#?blues? happenin' : Robby Krieger of The Doors!

Man. That has some smoking moments. Dickey's playing... well, he's still got it. Such a lesson to us guitar players, still. He manages to bring the solos to a climax without resorting to a billion notes a second. Great tone, great vibrato. All there...

Unfortunately Dickey Betts and Great Southern will be canceling their January dates. A close family relative of Dickey's is battling stage four lung cancer and Dickey is staying by his side.
Rescheduled per the venue to Saturday May 23. Nicer weather outside, warmer weather in the Chop Shop.
