I ventured into the big music store here yesterday and one of the guitar teachers was attempting to teach a young player how the CROSS PICK and the instructor was having a fit at times.
A young metal head was there and told me that metal heads when it comes to guitar players demand monster technique and he mentioned some players he thought had more technique than Eddie Van Halen.
The track they had on the computer was by the late Tony Rice. Here is the track with close ups of Rice cross picking. Rather complicated I say.
