I really hope not, because epidemics aren't covered in my ticket insurance policy! But cancellations are.
I mean anything is possible but people have to remember the Knicks and Rangers play there a lot more then the The Brothers..
Closing MSG means either cancelling the NBA or NHL seasons or playing in empty arenas. Way too much money would be lost in either scenario and I think that goes way above DeBlasio’s discretion.
The Big East Tournament is starting the next day after the show. Things must go on. Just no more passing doobies and keep washing your hands,

First case in my county just reported.
The Mayor of NYC, Bill DeBlasio has not cancelled the St. Patricks Day parade yet.
Boston cancelled theirs.
A second case in my county (now, my TOWN) reported yesterday moments after I posted about the first. This morning the grocery store was completely out of toilet paper, disinfectants (sprays, wipes, etc.) and bottled water. I kinda get stocking up on TP and cleaners - but water? Are the water works going to shut down because of this?

It must I went to Costco this morning and there was a line to get toilet paper all the way to the front of the store. Everyone had multiple packages of toilet paper. I just went to get some items and had no idea it was going to be a madhouse
Yes more have died from the flu. People are freeked because there is no vaccince and no treatment and the elderly are the most vulnerable. A few weeks ago I wasn't too concerned but I'm a lot more cautious now.
I canceled my adult ED piano class because the school gave me more students than I have pianos and people were sharing instruments. I have elderly people in that class and I wanted to do a 2 week suspension but the school district gave me more soap and moved the tables farther apart yet most major colleges and all the local catholic schools have shutdown for a few weeks. So i quit in protest. The only way to stop it is for us to hunker down for a few weeks. It has a 2 week incubation period. The NBA has at least 2 players now infected

CDC head said today that many thought to have died of flu earlier this year tested positive for Covid19 posthumously. In the USA reported cases are doubling daily and the reported mortality rate in Italy has doubled to 6% The USA has followed procedures more in line with Italy than places like South Korea or Taiwan where the mortality rate is .06 percent

I work in the medical field..almost 29 yrs now.
We have been dealing with this Covid 19 for the past week plus at the hospital.
The virus is concerning. Personally I am more worried about the general population reaction than being infected. Fear can spread chaos. It can cause desparation in people and they will do desperate things. If people are in a panic mode, this can get weird real quick. My wife called me from the local supermarket and it was packed like the day before Christmas/Thanksgiving.
Everything is shutting down sports,schools,social events,anything with mass gatherings. The trickle down from this is more than what people assume and how it will affect is being underestimated.
Call me paranoid or being kooky, I don't care. I am not going to be caught with my pants down.
Better to be safe than sorry.
