Over the weekend I went to a resale shop to poke around and I found these discs:

John Mellencamp - Dance Naked - This was funny because it had a placard announcing the 1994 summer tour

John Cougar - American Fool - Haven't listened to that in forever

Shawn Colvin - Cover Girl - I saw her years ago when she opened for Stevie Nicks. Shawn was much better. This release is all covers. There's a great Steve Earle one and a great version of "Killing the Blues"

VanZant - It sounds a lot like '90s Skynyrd

Cream - The Very Best Of - I found this interesting because the songs are so short. I have some amazing live Cream from '69 & '70 and the songs last forever

Thorogood - Boogie People - Hey, it's fun

My bill out the door:

$2.47 Laughing Out Loud

$2.47!  Who'd have thought that 20 years ago!  Still love my cds and buying/finding them too.  When it's time for me to go to Valhalla, someone is going to have quite the cd/music find.  May he/she/they have as much fun and vibe as I did.  Cheers!

Thats a low price for a lot of music. I don't have any shops near that sell them for less than $1

I like the liner notes, who played on what, who was a guest background vocalist, etc. Who knew Jim Keltner & Kenny Aranoff have seemingly played drums with everyone? I know most people these days don't want them but I like 'em. You can download them to your computer so you don't have to reach for them all of the time anyway. But you can if you want.

A buck a disc is still a good deal. Cheaper than paying an extra $3.99 to have one shipped to you.

You never know what you might find in a thrift shop. My wife found me a cashmere Cardinal of Canada overcoat recently for $14. The thing is brand new and warm as hell.

(Just don't tell her I shop for her Xmas presents there). Laugh

Recently discovered a used record/CD shop on a weekend getaway to Napa, Ca.  And what should I see but a bundled CD set of the Rascals first five albums on Atlantic.  The Rascals were the first concert I attended (1966).  They rocked and it wasn't just "Good Lovin".  Felix Cavaliere was absolutely one of the best "blue-eyed" soul singers besides being a groove-master of the Hammond B-3.  Their songs always received major cover play at my high school dances.

BTW, the Rascals were the first white band signed by r&b oriented Atlantic.  Wonder how much the Rascals successful run on the label led to Atlantic adding some other white rock, blues and r&b oriented groups to their label.  I can think of one right away.

One of their great minor hits, guaranteed to get you movin'.

The place I went to had cassettes and 8-tracks. It would have been neat to find something just for its collectability. I have a lot of cassettes that I can't play and even some 8-track ABB albums including a cool Eat A Peach. Those are hard to find.

Music gifts at Christmas have always been my favorites both giving and receiving.  Fortunately, we're still keeping the vibe alive!  Jr. got David Gimore's latest CD while Jr. gave me Ryan Bingham's Red Rocks download (no CDs).  Suffice to say, the house has been Rockin'!

No intent to hyjack but seems like a related question to raise here.

I haven't googled anything yet, but our family has some of those Bose Wave radios.  My Mom has one, the kids have one, we have one that I got out to use in the garage and the CD player is clicking and making some noises when I try to play CD.  My Mom told me the last time she tried to play a CD in her's it did the same thing.  So 2 of the 3 we have around developed this problem.  Not sure the kids even use theirs anymore, doubt they play CDs.  Anyone have similar issues with CD players like this ...I assume there is a belt in there, maybe I should take one apart.

I have hundreds of Cd's from over the years and was always a firm believer in playing them. But I listened to some recently for the 1st time in a long time, and its hard for me to listen to them as music that is downloaded sounds way better now.
