Carl Palmer drum solo Ridgefield, CT 02 09 22
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,
Carl is one of my favorites!! Seen him with Emerson, Lake and Palmer and without out.
Another drummer that I think was top notch was Papa Jo Jones!
John Bonham cited Joe Morello as one of his favorites!!
An old friend of mine down in Atlanta who was/is a drummer and a drummer freak ( he seems to know about all the good ones) sent me this about 15 minutes ago.
Somebody put this together cutting back and forth between Carl Palmer and Buddy Rich AND THEY ARE PLAYING EXACTLY THE SAME LICKS!! Except Carl seems to be on Tom Toms. He didn't have any visual of Carl. Just audio off an album.
It's strange I think that someone would notice. Very focused on drummers and what they play I assume.
Neal Peart with the Buddy Rich big band and COTTONTAIL!! Hot drum solo!
Carl Palmer plays a great solo up top. I've watched it five times now. Love it when he plays his sticks!!
Buddy plays his sticks in this little solo. Did Buddy borrow this from Palmer? Exactly the same.
Man out to prove he can play big band jazz on the drums as good as Buddy Rich!!!
But can he curse the band as good as Buddy could?
"We don't play two bars in one f*** tempo!! Miscue after miscue!! And you've got your horn so far into the f bell!! Afraid you won't be heard? Everybody can hear you f*** clams out there tonight!! We don't need a mic for that!!!!"
Buddy, Buddy!! How did you get so good??
