Humble Pie Rocked the Fillmore, The ABB were Live @ The Fillmore East, well Bishop Gunn was both Live & Rocking at the Rockwood Music Hall for their first show in NYC. "Smokin'" "Brothers And Sisters" That is how I'd describe Wednesday nights show, Absolutely Smokin'. Rockwood Stage 2 had rotating bands limited to 1 hour sets each and the bands wound up with only ~50 minute sets for each, Talk about leavin' 'em wanting more. Scott Sharrard came out and joined the Gents on their song Devil Is A Woman. Nice!

Bishop Gunn consists of Travis McCready on vocals/harp/guitar, Drew Smithers on lead guitar, Ben Lewis on bass/vocals, & Burne Sharp on the skins. Their first disc released in May of this year is Natchez expressing the same hometown love as Hernando did for the NMA. Great opening disc for a new band with a high ceiling.

If I was in a Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Band keeper league, These Gents would be my 1st round draft pick, They're that good! They've already toured with some of Rock's elite while recording at Muscle Shoals and the Purple House with the latter work including Travis singing a tune (Somebody's Fool) and Drew playing some lead on Willing To Wait for Robben Ford's new disc Purple House. This is some ground floor tunage happening right here, Get on board. I'm hoping to catch their full show in the near future. The Crawfish Festival in NJ may be in my summer plans work schedule allowing.
