I typically hate music bio-pics, but this looks theatrical enough to work.

I'm not too keen on Tom Hanks in a fat suit though

@porkchopbob Well Tom doesn't play Elvis but Colonel Parker, Elvis' long time manager. When I viewed the trailer above, I didn't recognize Hanks as Colonial Parker.  I was wondering if it might be Barry Corbin or Clifton James.  So the fat suite worked!! Didn't know it was Tom.

Yes this looks like a decent rock star bio film!!

I always liked the Kurt Russell version. He did a good job. I am pretty sure the vocals were done by others.

Yeah ....I have always been on the fence regarding some of these. The young man doing EP seems to have it down. Hanks looks pretty good as Col Tom Parker.

The real life Parker did very well as Presley's manager. I am not how much of his manager/business dealings were on the "up and up".

@jszfunk Col Tom was a bit of a scoundrel. He did get Elvis writing and publishing credit on a lot of those early songs, which was super smart and unheard of at the time and why Elvis wasn't poor when his career nose-dived in the mid-60s. Also told Elvis to turn down A Star is Born (and many other movies including) because he wouldn't get top billing.

I agree with most of these comments, I'm not really into made for tv movies. It seems Hollywood is always looking for another way to make millions of somebody's story.

Not sure it will do good, but then again?
