Yes the Allman family. Nice idea to celebrate.
Jack Pearson is my favorite musician right now but I must say their are others that are right there with Jack. Jaimoe, Dickey and Chuck and others that played in the ABB are special to me. Government Mule, TTB etc and the Allman Betts Band is special. You have Gregg's son, Duane's nephew, Dickey and Berry's sons and the band does sound good.
Devon has a good number of Gregg electric and acoustic guitars on stage, Duane Betts has three of Dickey's in use every time (Dickey signature Goldtop Les Paul, Dickey's 1961 ES-335 dot neck and 1956 Stratocaster hardtail) and Berry has his dad's tractor Fender bass that Dickey saved after Oakley's death. To see those young men playing well with those classic guitars is sweet to me and Johnny playing great slide and lead on his SG.

This show is FANTASTIC.
Their slide player is really good.
lamar Jr is a nice singer.
luther playing some tasty licks.
and JD Simo tore up his set.

They started Dreams, and I was like “oh boy.” But they’re acquitting themselves nicely. It’a a solid professional take.

Blue Sky!

Johnny Stachela is the slide. He’s good.
And Luther’s been out for all the Allman Bros. covers too.

Jimmy Hall!

one way out.
Jessica.

What? no breakdown of their financial history as well? Your slipping blackey

@redhouse1969 They must be broke since they are playing their father's guitars. When I was broke I drove my father's car when I could:)

This was some of the best $15 I ever spent. The ABB were tight and the guest musicians were woven in pretty seamlessly. Was not familiar with JD Simo but am a believer now. Same with Patrick Sweany. These guys are very talented. The 2 young girls were fun and fresh sounding. The one is a really good mandolin player which I wish they featured more. The lovely lady McNally was a bit underwhelming, as was Stokes ( I believe he helps them write so I get it ).
I've never been very impressed with Luther D and Saturday was another one of those moments for me.
Jimmy Hall was on point for sure. Great seeing him. Jimmy's son played keys for a few. He is not good. Sorry. At least on this night.
The Allman Brothers tunes were very good but once again it's the Allman betts originals that keep me coming back. Man have they written some good tunes.

Sorry - one more thing. BO Jr. was missing Saturday. Pedro Alvaredo filled in. That's a nice Plan B to have for sure and he did well.
Anyone know what's up with Berry? This is the second noticeable absence since COVID so I hope he's OK.
Thanks

If you want to check out some more Sweany, I suggest starting with the albums:
Every Hour is a Dollar Gone, and
C‘mon, C’mere.
They’re his two classics. I actually like his album The Old Southern Drag the best, but those other two will give you more of the pure Pat flavor.
Henryfordbedroom is also good. Great songs, but it’s early in his career and the production is lacking. Kinda muddy.
His first album is all acoustic blues/country. It is PERFECT for a lazy weekend morning. It’s called I Wanna Tell You.
I highly recommend every one of those albums. The others are more hit and miss.
I saw him open for the Black Keys way back when and was hooked. He’s my favorite of the last decade.

First I’ve seen Devon w/the muttonchop sideburns like his uncle’s🤙
