Allman Brothers Live At Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs New York, June 24, 1996

Not sure why this show got so popular so quickly, but it sounds great, so it's understandable:

I'd say this show is just as good as the 1996 show and that says a lot considering they are 2 different lineups. The 1996 show is with Warren Haynes and Allen Woody and the 1998 show is with Jack Pearson and Oteil Burbridge. Also I don't think there were many instances of the bros playing Mean Woman Blues (an Elvis Presley cover from their Where It All Begins album) and I would also say that them playing Freddie King's Hide Away is also very rare. 2 very solid tunes though, I'll say that:

Two different songs with completely different lyrics. The ABB song was written by Dickey.
They played "Hideaway" somewhat often from 98-99 or so. Dickey played it in his solo bands a lot over the years going back to that first 1974 solo tour and it popped up now and then every couple years.

First time "Hideaway" was on an ABB setlist, jamming with Jerry from the 1973 Cow Palace Show.

Yeah, I know those 2 versions of Mean Woman Blues sound way different, that's just what it says on Setlist.fm, that's why I typed that in the post. Very good version of Hide Away that you got there. I was aware of that version, but I'd never heard before. Let's just say I'm happy I listened to it.

Yeah you can't always trust that info, some of it auto-fills when the show info gets uploaded. I remember when Toy Caldwell died his obits stated he wrote Steve Miller's "Fly Like an Eagle". One person looked through Marshall Tucker song titles and assumed it was the same song. It happens.
That Youtube account has a lot of deep cuts, I was going through it as well yesterday. I never knew the ABB ever performed "Everybody's Got a Mountain to Climb" live, which I have a soft spot for.

Yeah, now it makes a lot more sense because I always wondered why sometimes the original songs would sound so much different than the Allman Brothers covers. I didn't realize the bros played Everybody's Got A Mountain To Climb live. I really like the studio version and I'd say it's a very underrated tune. But that's all I've ever heard until now. That's cool. Thanks for sharing.
