No, not the Brother's tune but it is co-credited to Gregg:

Another credit is to David Brown & he wrote this in the comments:

" David Brown
I wrote this song in 1968 and played it for Gregg. He contributed the first two lines of the second verse. Scott Boyer suggested it during the sessions. I never considered it a finished song. I always felt it it made it onto the album because they liked the jam in the middle section."

I really like that tune. I have the vinyl album - all good cuts. My favorite singer of the Taylors. Alex put out a couple good albums. I have the two; not sure if there are any others.

He released two more albums in the late 80s & early 90s:

For my friends out there - there's a great sounding Alex Taylor soundboard from his Capricorn era available in interweb land.
"Alex Taylor Spring 72" will get you there & the supergroup pictured below plays on it:

L-R Chuck Leavell, Jimmy Nalls, Alex Taylor, Charlie Hayward, Bill Stewart, Earl Sims

Setlist:

01 I Don´t Need No Doctor
02 Who´s Been Talking?
03 When This Battle is Over
04 Good Morning Miss Brown
05 You're Gonna Need Me
06 From a Buick Six
07 Night Owl
08 Payday
09 Who Will the Next Fool Be?
10 Going Down

Vince the LP lists Paul Hornsby on keyboards.

Didn't go look for that but it's likely the spring of '72 show from Manley Field House in Syracuse where they opened for the ABB (as they did on that tour elsewhere). Chuck plays keyboards and Jaimoe joins them on a song or two.

I love Alex Taylor. I have the two Capricorn releases, and have been a fan since then.
I also have a bootlegg with this band, from this era and it is outstanding. I have thought
for years that this bootlegg was an effort by Capricorn Records at a live release by Alex. The quality is so clear that is must be a soundboard copy. My point, he's was as good live as he was on Memorex:)

I almost forgot... how about this band? Chuck, Jimmy Nalls, Bill Stewart, and the CDB bass player.

I bought a vinyl copy of "Friend and Neighbors" in Manhattan several years ago at a used record store during a Beacon run. Great album!

Dug this out for a listen today. Good stuff!
