One guitarist and guitar enthusiast at the big music store here just a couple years ago ( he's not a huge ABB fan. Loves Metallica) insisted to me that other than Duane Allman, Jack Pearson was the best guitarist the ABB had. Gives him an edge over Dickey. He thought Dan Toler was just average and Derek and Warren become too predictable and boring if you play live sound recordings back to back to back etc. Derek and Warren certainly played refreshingly good a Madison Square Garden recently. Thinks Dickey slipped after about 1995 and became sloppy and inconsistent from his bad habits and that is why Butch Trucks used that to get Dickey out of the band, something he claims Butch wanted since Duane died. If that is true then why did Butch play in BHLT in the early 80's. Butch did say stuff like that himself but I figured he was just blowing steam from when Butch turned on Dickey in early 2000AD.

You sure hear a variety of junk from want to be guitar heros at this big music store here. I walked by there yesterday but decided not to go in. And they had a wonderful looking Les Paul tobacco burst in the window. A solid black Rickenbacker with white pick guard and a beautiful tobacco burst Hofner guitar. The body look more like a violin body.

"Opinions are like a*******. Everybody's got one" Duane Allman Guitar Player Magazine September, 1970.

Jackie Boy!! ( Apparently hasnt played live since last fall)

Never knew Gregg sang "Mean Woman Blues" after Warren left. Not a big fan of that song, but sounds more interesting than it did on Where It All Begins.

Some channels that I've known to post lots of Allman Brothers concerts normally end up getting taken down. How has his one (SJ Archives) not gotten taken down. Im not saying I want it taken down. Quite the opposite actually. I love the channel and I hope it never gets taken down. I'm just curious on how its able to stay up for so long when most of the channel has copyrighted content. And it's not just SJ Archives. It's also Jaxflfreebird, Myinnereyemike, Dayne Peachman, Heber Almedia, etc. My theory is that either these channels somehow have permission to be posting this stuff and know the Allman Brothers personally or because they aren't monetized and they aren't claiming ownership of their uploads so they can upload as much as they want with no risk of termination. I have no clue. If anyone has any ideas or knows how this is possible please let me know. Thank you.

@waterfalls1358

The ABB has always allowed tapers, so the channels that share audience recordings are safe and free to share. The channels that re-post shows owned and for sale by the band or Universal Music (1992 Great Woods, 2009 Beacon shows, etc) are usually going to get reported and suspended.

In September 1998 at around 3 p.m. I scored three tickets third row center for the Moran Theater. So I went from Palm Coast in front of keyboard to Jville smack dab in front of stage 4 hours later! Wife and 10 year old son dug it. So did I. Jack on Dreams and Blue Sky. Amazing! End of show Jaimoe came out and tried to give my son a stick. Son being shy he got swallowed up! Way cool Jaimoe dug seeing the torch being passed to the next generation. My son still talks about that show. Last time I saw Dickey too. Special.
