ABB "Gold Record Award" for Berry Oakley on Statesboro, GA Craigslist

FYI - I have no idea who is selling this - no price is listed - don't know how/why they have it. The link is from the Craiglist page for Statesboro, GA. Like I said - just FYI:

EDIT: This actually looks like a frame job by one of those strip mall craft stores - a $hitty one at that. The cutout in the matte for the brass (?) plate is noticeably crooked. This doesn't look like any real "Gold Record Award" that I've ever seen. Buyer be very aware!

Odd Berry "Barry" Oakley would get a gold record award in 1992 when he passed away in 1972.
The Dreams box set sold over 300,000 copies but earned a GOLD record ( 500,000 or more copies) because there were 5 different CD or audio cassettes in the package.
The 1989 success of this release and tour is the reason the ABB decided to tour in 1990 and record a new album (Seven Turns) resulting in Gregg and Dickey putting their solo bands on hold.
I remember reading an interview with Dan Toler and he was very disappointed and seemed irritated that after years of touring and finally getting two albums out one of which went gold (I'm No Angel), Gregg shelves the Gregg Allman Band.
The reason of course was the ABB was drawing Big crowds and suddenly Gregg was making real good money off live shows again.

@robertdee Whenever I see someone trying to sell relics associated with any band, I feel a need to advise potential buyers. I drew the ire of an Orlando shopkeeper who had a Hofner "Beatle bass" framed in a shadowbox with a picture of the Beatles from the 60's. He was insinuating that the bass belonged to Paul McCartney and had a buyer who was about to bite ... I had to point out that the bass in the frame was a right-handed model. The buyers thanked me. The shopkeeper - not so much. 😉

Weird. By that logic, then the other original members would've got one too...

I believe this is real, it has been for sale before. I remember several years ago it was for sale and the seller was hounded by people that he should give it to BO Jr. and I am almost positive there is one just like this at the Big House too, not sure whose name is on the plaque though.
