A Great Day Fishing!
I have been a Covid shut-in for most of the last two years. It hasn't been all about fear and paranoia - I've lost three people to this cruel virus. I have noticed feelings of depression and anxiety due to this pandemic. A neighbor talked me into getting out and doing a little fishing yesterday. An amazing day on the water. Mostly a catch and release outing. I did keep a few Whiting that I'll eat this evening. Beyond that, we caught no fewer than five Red Fish the size of this one (that I appear to be playing Fish Guitar with). Several fairly large sharks - a Black Tip and several as-big-as-they-get Bonnet Heads. I've got to say that my soul feels better for having gotten out there.
Peace and Love, y'all.
@steadyhorse I just hope you didn't catch Covid!
BTW - very nice catch! I can't tell - looks like a King Mackerel or a Tuna? Regardless - nice fish! Were you in a boat or did you catch this from shore?
(2nd edit) - upon closer inspection - looks like a Bluefish?
(edited - picture wasn't visible at first)
Glad you got out and did some fishing. Yes Covid is the biggest downer this world has seen in decades. I too have lost friends to Covid. And my doctor also died from Covid.
I've been jabbed three times, got a booster just two weeks ago.
Another friend has two vaccinations 14 days apart yet still almost died in the hospital on a respirator. Home now but still on oxygen.
@robertdee That's a great Elvin record! I got to chat with him for a bit several years ago. Super nice guy!
I got my Pfizer boost just last Friday. Don't know if it's cycle-mological or what, but it certainly boosted my social confidences!
