Connected to the ABB family, Gov't Mule was nominated for their "Heavy Load Blues" release under the traditional blues category. That grammy went to Ry Cooder & Taj Mahal for their tribute album "Get On Board" which covered the songs of Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee.
In the contemporary blues category Edgar Winter won for his tribute album "Brother Johnny" which was a salute to his late brother. Among the many guest performers on that release were Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes.
