Where can I find Allman fans before the show for a drink? Looking for some good vibes before heading into the shows.

I has a beer and some great wings at Blondies on 79th between Broadway and Amsterdam. It's a short walk from the Beacon and I met several fans there last night.

What James said, above. I live in the neighborhood - and no question in my mind that Blondies is the best pre-Beacon spot in the area. Great vibe, phenomenal wings, and cold beer at a reasonable price! And the jukebox (along with a smattering of ABB) is chock full of Hendrix, Band, Dead, Neil Young, Dylan, etc etc. About 75% of the crowd last night were ABB fans - but there was still ample room both at the bar and at the tables. I walked out of there at 8:10, and settled comfortably into my seat at The Beacon about two minutes before they started.

Back in March the new Beacon Hotel Bar was a good hang, pre-show.

Blondies, yep. Another good one. TTB bounces between the two when they're in town. 😉

Thumbs up on the Blondies recommendation.
Have done a pre-Beacon there for the past few years.
Was happy I found it.

Blondes... Can't get there too early. Best pre ABB show spot.

Amsterdam Ale House is nice, as long as you like to be packed into a space like a sardine and have your arm bumped into every time you try to take a sip of your beer.
Blondie's has some good food and beverages for reasonable prices. Don't get there too late, because it can get a bit crowded as well.
My personal preference is either Jake's Dilemma or The Gin Mill, both of which are on Amsterdam Ave., but a bit further uptown...between 79th & 81st. Not too crowded, and they have great Happy Hours that last until 8:00 pm with a pretty good selection of tap and bottled beer at really great prices...hence my preference over the Ale House. Hope to see some fellow ABB fans there during the next few nights.

The past few years we've met and had a few at the Dive75 bar. On 75th Street off Columbus. Not a big place, but cheap beer, happy hour till 7.
