Saw the Drive By Truckers last night at The House of Blues. Nice to be there again. They were good. Played a lot of Southern Rock Opera which was cool. Patterson Hood got a little political talking about the movie "Blues Brothers" in Chicago because there was the thing with the Nazis chasing them, which segued into something about the KKK in the South. I don't know where he was going.
I thought about going again tonight but I didn't need to hear the same thing (basically) two nights in a row.
It would have been cool to see Lefty and the boys downstairs again. 
$8 beers at a concert were cool but THB bought a $20 mixed drink.

Through trading circles back in the day, yes - however as a ‘gray market’-type release/officially remastered-released show, possibly included in a box set….not that I know of - could be wrong - cool to see tho🎼

Fall has finally arrived in full temps in the 40's and 50's for at least a week. Made a quick trip down and back to New Orleans last week. It was mid 80's there.

I think they played the Pabst Theatre or the other one downtown in Milwaukee before they got here.
They were good. Same thing as usual. It's not like they differ in how the songs are played like the ABB might. That's why I didn't go two nights in a row. Show was supposed to start at 6:30. No opener. They came out after 7:00. It was a lot of fun. Sound was great. I kind of knew wott they were going to play. One Wet Willie cover I think.

I am a stout and porter fan - can't stand IPA's, although since I still don't have my taste or smell back I can choke one down if I have to. Coming to my favorite time of year - after the Octoberfest beers are gone, it's stout time ... although at home now I drink mostly bourbon ...
Can't believe you still don't have your taste / smell back, Mike ... that sucks big time ... do you still get the burn sensation from a spirit to give some pleasure from drinking?

Celebrated my 69th birthday Thursday. My wife and I went to a couple microbrews to celebrate. Yesterday I worked at the food pantry for a couple hours, then went to play golf, then went out to dinner with the kids and granddaughter. Today went to Central Illinois to celebrate all the November birthdays with the family. Very busy few days but had a great time!

Glad you enjoyed your birthday celebrations, Mike ... November & December are very full of joyous occasions with four birthdays in the Harvey household ... and before those, this Sunday will be our 45th Wedding Anniversary ... we are going to our favourite local coastal village (Southwold) for the weekend and staying in a nice hotel ... oh, and they just happen to have an excellent brewery (Adnams) in the village too
