Overcast chilly day just need some rain and it would be like being in England!
Good day to stay indoors and watch some hoops later.

Indoor golf today - looks like we are 2 or 3 weeks away from being able to play outdoors ....

Happy Friday! No concrete plans for the weekend other than watching college hoops. THB is going out tomorrow so I might go see Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials at a club. Haven't seen him in a while. I think the last time was when they opened for Widespread Panic.

Love Lil Ed - saw him at Buddy Guy's Legends, and I think he was at a side stage for a show at Northerly Island - maybe the last Gregg & Friends show?

Yeah, 2016. This was an awesome show. If memory serves the first three or four were the ones on the main stage and the others were on a side stage. Seems like Jaimoe was on the side stage but I could be wrong. I regret seeing Roomful of Blues. There was a lot of talent that day!
I don't remember if Jaimoe sat in with Gregg.

Lil Ed has made swings through Lincoln & Omaha for many years. I've seen them at least a dozen times. Always a fun time.

Good Saturday morning. Getting down to the nitty gritty in the hoops tourney. Creighton still alive!

Went to my favorite microbrew last night and saw the Smiley Tillmon Band. I go every time they are around ... Smiley is 82 and still playing the blues. Love their bluesy versions of Black Magic Woman and House of the Rising Sun.

WXRT is doing 1983 for Saturday Morning Flashback ... now playing Culture Club's Church of the Poison Mind ...

Happy Sunday! Mother Nature doesn't seem to want spring to come to Chicago. Glad I'm not going to Opening Day Thursday.

Woke up to three inches of snow on the ground, were forecast for a dusting. Was mid-50's yesterday. Should all be melted by later today.
Go Creighton!

No snow here, but my brother lives near the Wisconsin line and they had a bunch.
Heading to Memphis tomorrow for a quick 3 or 4 day getaway. Taking in Graceland while we are there ...

Did the Graceland tour myself some years back. The main house is really restricted to visitors, entry to the rooms cordoned off, you could look into them but not actually go in. At that time there were still some family members living on the second floor which was totally restricted. There are out buildings that I found way more interesting with his grammy awards, gold records on display etc. Also visited the museum area across the street.

Got another one to two inches of snow overnight. Supposed to be fifty later today and 70 on Thursday. Early spring always interesting.

I wonder if Sang will wear blue suede shoes to Graceland?

Friday is THB's birthday. In honor of said event she is taking the next two days off. Fortunately I have prepared for such a calamity. A meeting, watching Opening Day tomorrow (the important thing) and having to run errands for her party. The last one I can justify. And I told her about Opening Day anyway.
I was never a Boy Scout but aren't they always prepared?

When I was there for a conference it was at The Peabody just a couple blocks off of Beale, walked down there every night. Was lucky enough Gov't Mule was playing at some dive on Beale while I was there, got to see them with Oteil on bass and Chuck Leavell guesting on keys. For a large portion of the show I was literally able to stand no more than three feet away from Chuck and watch him play. Awesome show. Still have a drum stick of Matt Abts from that show, and is it ever worked over! Have an audience of the show, I should dig that out.
