My younger son (Lee) is in Atlanta visiting his girlfriend for his first ever Thanksgiving ... I'm sure he'll have fun ... Hope y'all do too ... Happy Thanksgiving my friends ...

Not the best game of soccer ever to grace our screens was it ... especially after England's last match which they won 6-2 ... the US now need to beat Iran to qualify for the next phase ... England have already qualified in at least second place in the group, and a draw against Wales will ensure they win it.

Nope ... it is an American / Canadian thing ... I had never even heard of it until "Alice's Restaurant" was released ...
Your son got to experience a different cultural tradition. Pretty neat.
Alice's Restaurant is a classic. When my Gramma would host Thanksgiving dinner I would listen to that song on my way there. It is so long I could repeat it and get through three renditions before I showed up to watch football and eat turkey. Great memories! 😀

I have several friends here who are fans and someone explained the pod/group thing to me. The USA never has a good team so if they move on I think that would be an accomplishment.
Doubt I will ever understand the passion for it though. I stopped into a local pub late this morning on my way home and there was a match on. Two teams from South America or something. Bar was full. People were screaming at the telly, pounding on the bar, etc. And I know there wasn't one person there from either country.
Guess I can see why Qatar wouldn't allow beer in the stadium.

Looks like a (slight) possibility of our first snow on Tuesday. Don't need that so soon. Good that the holiday travel wasn't effected by that this year. Ate way too much and may have overdosed on football.

Had a Thanksgiving gathering last week. We all pre-tested for Covid, all negative. Unfortunately, unknown to anyone a grandson had RSV. Now, everyone has it. Glad it's not Covid but this is nasty enough. Send me your BEST antibiotics!
