As far as testing, we got every free home test kit the government/post office offered.  We have quite a few left.  

So the big question is after taking the tests are you pregnant or not?  

Seriously I hope you two and your families are both doing great. THB and I were watching the news last night and they talked about the cases increasing in Chicago. Knock on wood, we are both shocked that we don't have it.

This heat is really oppressive. THB has some friends that live in England and they are really struggling because most of them don't have A/C I guess. Not sure why. I sure hope Colin is doing okay!

I haven't left the building since Saturday. Just on my computer. Tomorrow I have to go to the dentist. At least it is in the morning.

We are doing okay thanks ... A/C is very rare in UK as we don't tend to get sustained heatwaves, it tends to be just a few days here and there so not worth the expense for the few days each year you need it ... although I must admit it has been exceptionally hot this last week so I am glad that I do have A/C in my car ...

I just got done dog sitting. It sucks leaving him. He almost jumped off the back of a couch to see me. Every time we get him THB wants to get one. Wimmen....

So this weekend has really sucked. Friday I went to one of my dental surgeons for a checkup. I had a bad feeling about this for some reason. And he told me he has to print out something to give to me. My fears were confirmed. he added ANOTHER surgery to my treatment plan. An additional 5k plus. Says they aren't billing my insurance for any of it. I told the guy I wasn't paying it but he didn't really listen. Well, that sucks but what can I do? At the moment tab is running in the upper 60K range. Well you can't get blood from a turnip as that old saying goes so if I don't have the cash, I don't have it.

So THEN, I get off the first bus to transfer to the next one as I have to take two. I noticed my wallet was gone. Now I had it to get on the first bus because I couldn't have gotten onto it without my transit card. I am sitting at a bus stop waiting for a bus to come by which I couldn't pay for. I figured the driver would let me on. I have seen a lot of weird crap on public transit and he or she would let it go. So I had a long time to think about my options. The bus comes and I told her what happened. She didn't care. You lost your transit card? That's $2.50. Did you not hear me? I lost my wallet (or someone took it). She was really pissy with me but let me on.

So I get home. My key to get into the building is also in my wallet so that is gone. What the hell am I going to do? I figured someone would come in and I would just follow them. Well, that didn't happen. The lady that was working security recognized me and buzzed me in. I don't know where my wife is so I don't know if our unit was unlocked. I was able to get in.

I immediately get on the phone and called the two credit card companies. Those accounts were paused so I can't use them anymore. Then I call my bank. In hindsight, I should have done that first. They said I was cool. Everything was cancelled. 

But now I am screwed. No cash, no credit cards. The banker tells me to come in and she will take care of it. Got me a new banking card, I was able to get money so that part was okay.

Now I have to wait for replacement credit cards. And my Illinois ID so I have to go to a Secretary of State to get a new one. So at the moment I have no ID. Nothing.

Health insurance. That card was also in my wallet. Also gone. Gotta call them.

My banker asked me how much money was in my wallet. I never carry much so I said probably about fifty bucks. She told me I got off easy. Consider it a donation to someone who needs it she tells me. BS. Someone either found it or stole it. If you found it, return it. Very simple. If you stole it, well you aren't going to return it. 

I checked my transit account and nobody used it after I got off the bus. I was hoping the card had been used so they could at least know where the person was going but that didn't happen. The transit authority put out a notice to every driver on the number nine route to look for it. They never called us back so I guess it is a dead issue.

Rant over. How is everyone else's weekend? 😛 

Saw Mark Farner and his American Band and Pat Benatar last night - great show, and the rain held off.  Farner did 3 songs I didn't recognize, and then played all Grand Funk.  Pat Benatar can still belt them out at 69.  She didn't do 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot', which I had read this week that she wasn't playing it because of all the mass shootings.  Very enjoyable night ...

Lee, my weekend is definitely better than that!

Lost my wallet once in high school, got it returned the next day but not until I'd already replaced my driver's license and draft card. Got the three bucks back too. Long before I had any credit cards or medical info etc.

Regarding the comments, I would definitely go see Mark Farner. I saw him once with Grand Funk. He's from the shithole that is Flint, Meeechigan. They were good! Benatar puts on a good show. Great entertainer. 

coot, you got lucky. And thankfully, someone had a conscience. I was freaking out. I just got off the phone with the transit authority and nobody knows anything about it is basically a dead issue. I've wondered if I lost my wallet or someone stole it. Doesn't matter I guess. 

So I have a new transit card so I can get around and the insurance company is sending me a new card. 

I guess at the end of the day I went through a very stressful weekend and am probably out less than $200. I still think someone stole it.

And I will wait patiently for Colin's BEST shows! 😛 

Sucks to lose a wallet - I keep a pretty good eye on mine.  When we visited my daughter in Barcelona when she went to school there an employee of a restaurant came running after me when we left and told me to put my wallet in my front pocket because of all the pickpockets there ...

Yeah I heard you should keep it in your front pocket. But I would think I'd feel it if someone took something out of my butt. Perhaps not.

I can't imagine losing mine in a foreign country. 

The only thing I have to do is get my ID. I will do that tomorrow I think. 

Still pissed that nobody called me about it. Or returned it. It's probably in a landfill by now. With the money gone.

Barcelona is notorious for pickpockets, especially at the Railway Station and along Las Ramblas ... It is pretty much standard practice in Europe to keep your wallet in your front pocket ...

When I visit a foreign country I always take two wallets, a small one to carry around with me which just has one credit card and enough cash for the day and my main one with other cards and cash I leave in the hotel safe. That way if I should lose the small wallet, or have it stolen, then it is just a few bucks lost and one card to be cancelled and the holiday can continue with the reserve cards / cash

Whenever I'm in a large crowd or bigger city I always have it in a front pocket and sort of position my hand right around that pocket. Been known to take some cash and employ the hotel safe on occasion too.
