Got tickets for a Lyle Lovett/John Hiatt acoustic show in Joliet in October ...Â
Going to see Sonny Landreth with TopDroog tonight at City Winery ...

I was going to try and swing that but I can't. I really wanted to go to Milwaukee next weekend to see Buddy Guy, John Hiatt and The Goners and Sonny Landreth. The ticket prices are reasonable but the hotel rates next weekend are through the roof so we aren't going. I want to see Hiatt and Sonny more than Buddy Guy.Â

I think I only have one show with Sonny & The Goners playing with Hiatt but it is stellar. Sonny is one of my favorites still playing.

Good afternoon! Smouldering hot here and due to stay that way for a week more. Bleech.

Great show last night. Our table was 2nd from the stage on the right side - about 15 feet away from Sonny - amazing to watch him play. Paul Cebar (from Paul Cebar and the Milwaukeeans) was the backup - great voice, fun songs, good entertainer. Then Sonny came on - his regular bass player wasn't available, so a local guy sat in. Sonny was great!
Great seeing Droogie again - we went to Greek Islands for dinner, and then went on an adventure to find the parking space he had reserved ...Â
Going to Meeechigan Monday for the annual 3 day golf trip ...
Well swell. In quarantine, wife got exposed late in the week. So far no symptoms for either of us hope that remains the same. She tested negative yesterday but only two days after exposure so that may not mean a whole lot.

Hope the coot* household stays negative ...Â
Positive vibes for continued negativity Steve
In Meechigan playing golf - but not very well ...
So far so good as to avoiding things. Hopefully completely in the clear after today and/or tomorrow. Probably would have begun symptoms by now. Thanks for the well wishes.

How does it work for getting tested? Especially both of you. Do you have to travel somewhere separately to the place?
I only got tested once and they gave me the result in like 10 minutes or so.

For her test my wife went to an out patient urgent care facility that comes out to the vehicle to test. We have been in separate areas of our home and minimizing proximity. She still has no symptoms and neither do I, both feeling fine. She may do a follow-up test tomorrow. At this point, pretty sure one of us would experience something by now, so fairly confident we avoided it.

Certainly glad neither of you is feeling anything negative.
And thanks for the advice on staying hydrated. The weather people on the news say it all the time. I just shake my head.

I was referring to Colin's strategy of drinking beer all day due to the heat, best way I can think of to stay hydrated.

Actually, Jan said if I wanted to drink beer I should also drink water in order to counter the dehydration effects of the alcohol ... so settled for Tanqueray and Tonic Water ... job done

Funny - thought I posted something last night...
Back from my Meechigan golf trip. A lot of fun, but I didn't play well. We played 4 rounds in 3 days - and most of the guys are older than me - we were tired. Didn't even go to Bells Brewery because we played 2 rounds Tuesday and they were closed Monday.
Those courses are tough - a lot of trees, lots of hills, and big greens with a lot of slope on them. My buddy and I did win the fun round on Tuesday afternoon - 2 man scramble on the front nine, alternate shot on the 2nd 9.
As far as testing, we got every free home test kit the government/post office offered. We have quite a few left. Glad the Coot*'s are doing ok.
That should have been 10 posts ...
Â
Retest this afternoon for my wife, completely expect negative again, not displaying any symptoms so I think we skated by this time.
