Jason has kind of given me an artist to get real interested in. I will actually put forth some effort and travel some distance to see him play. His songs are fantastic and he has a great band - especially when Amanda is along. Nothing will ever take the place of the ABB, but since that ship has sailed, and seeing as how the Crowes will never play together again, Jason gives me an outlet for that.

I listened to Laid Back Sunday. Damn, that was tough. That is easily the most personal work that Gregg ever did. And one of my all time favorite albums. My vinyl actually still sounds good. I had that album pretty soon after it was released, so it didn't get treated as well as ones that I got later. You know, the old players that you could stack albums on and then they would drop on top of the previous album and skid a little before they caught up to speed...

And the Cubs gave us a home win, which is more unusual than I'm comfortable with these days.

Good afterrnoon. After making it through the workday I came home and made banana bread. Making dinner now with some TTB on the stereo.

Based on Alan's recommendation, I am going to track down a Jason Isbell show and attempt to attend.

Mildly funny story, or so I thought -

Walking in to the Flagstaff Brews and Blues Festival, scanning the crowd for a good location to park our two chairs, spot an opening in the crowd, good stage view, perfect.

Speak to the dude sitting next to my new spot, to find he has an Allman Brothers Beacon shirt on (I had on a regular ABB mushroom logo shirt.) Said he'd been to Wanee a year or so ago, well aware of the ABB family of bands.

Small world, even out to Arizona.
