NRA called today looking for donations. $140 for 5 years, I can think of a better use of that money.

Hang in there Lono. I faced similar issues that caused me to fall behind. Talking about what was going on with my parents was a big step. The most important step was accepting that getting help was OK. Hopefully things get better.

My company is going through what they endearingly call a "RIF" - reduction in (work)force.

Some long timers got let go, I could be next for all I know.

I really need 5 more years, but hey, out of my control.

I'm getting pretty cynical and bitter about this job anyhow.

And Alan, I probably will not quit.

You know, I have owned firearms almost my entire life and I have never wanted to join the NRA. I have never wanted them to be my voice on the issue of gun ownership.

I probably should have gone a similar path in school, but the awareness just wasn't there. I seriously underachieved in undergraduate school. Missed a lot of class, drank a lot of beer, and was pretty much stoned all the time. I did do a lot of birddogging. 😛

I pretty much figure that I have to work until I am at least 67.

But still, I would like to

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood 'ol Gay Thursday Eve!

Speaking of, I went out into our warehouse at work this morning and the warehouse guys were "talking" to each other. A comment was made from one to another about wott to do (use your imagination). I told them it wasn't Gay Thursday yet. Even got a forklift driver to laugh at that.

THB is still in Atlanta. She's at Atlanta International Airport. Her company is super religious which forbid alcohol. So she's with colleagues drinking margarita's and eating appetizers. She is going to submit an expense report for the food. But everything is on the same bill.

I am going to suggest she not do this. I can push an envelope but goodness.

Potential delay due to wind. Do they know they are coming to Chicago> 😉 😮

My brother flew in tonight - said they made 2 attempts, and were almost blown off the runway. Said it was the most turbulent flight he has been on - the guy next to him threw up.

Then he was driving home, and the tornado warning sirens were going off in his town....... 😮

Should be OK for golf tomorrow, right......?

Rory and i power washed the deck and the house the last 2 days

not recommended in 90 degree heat and humidity

but ... it's done

looks good too

got Rory's final grades

and the rest of the truth came out

he stopped going to 2 classes, failed 2 classes totally (one of which is is major)

but got a C- in Philosophy (really?)

so i will spend my day figuring out what happens from here. if he's out or probation or what.

But, he did go to see a psychologist last night and he set him straight on a few things, but there is work to be done on that front

he mentioned an anti-dpresssent for a lil while , but i am not too keen on that
bt it is out of my hands since he is over 18 now

so, i have a phone interview with JP Morgan on Tues or Wed next week

i forwarded my info to one of the corp recruiters after helping a (former) co-worker get interviewd

so we'll see, it's for stuff i use to do fro PNC and BNY Mellon,

you never know

but that is next week

Playing golf in a little bit - looks like a 2-club wind..... 😮

It's 90+ with sultry humidity here in SW FL and for the life of me cannot understand people out here playing golf.
