Sang, what to you think the driving time would be from Chicago to Florida would be? Planning a road trip that would take me close to there before I took a left and headed west. Starting point would be North Florida. Thanks! It would be a straight run with no stops.

I live about an hour southeast of Chicago, and drove to Orange Beach, AL in between 15-16 hours, including a few pit stops. If you're near Pensacola, and 65 is your main interstate, it's surprisingly fast (as long as you're not Woods, and you don't get pulled over for speeding in Indiana).
I'm 30 miles from downtown Chicago - about 45 minutes Southwest.
Google Maps shows Chattanooga as 9 hours, but it takes me 10 - I don't drive real fast, and stop at a lot of rest stops 😛 I also seem to hit Nashville during rush hour, and that adds some time. Plus you lose an hour near Chattanooga, so it's 11 clock hours to there. I stay just south of Chattanooga - 10 hours is enough driving by myself. It's another 5 and a half hours to Live Oak according to Google Maps. I ususlly stop in Macon at the H&H for lunch, so it takes me a little longer. So Moid's estimate of 15-16 hours drive time is about right. Probably less if you drive like a maniac..... plus I stay out of Indiana...... 😛

Remember that you should take the West bypass around Atlanta - the I-85 bridge collapse is on the east side. I got that information from Tim Langan. I'm planning 7-8 hours. It takes me about 2 to Chattanooga.
Atlanta's a cluster anyway. It has been ever since I can remember even as a kid. It should be in Indiana.
