From the mayo clinic.Destructive arthritis. A small percentage of people with psoriatic arthritis have arthritis mutilans a severe, painful and disabling form of the disease. Over time, arthritis mutilans destroys the small bones in your hands, especially the fingers, leading to permanent deformity and disability. I have been told thru tests that this is what I have.

In addition, a substance called tumor necrosis factor (TNF), which causes inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis, appears to play a large role in psoriatic arthritis as well. People with psoriatic arthritis have high levels of TNF in both their joints and skin.

I don't why I started another topic other than to tell you again that I developed COPD thru PA. I am scared. I am tired of suffering. Sometimes I just want to die.

No need to reply. I needed to talk.

I sure am sorry to read about this jhawker. I suffer from psoriasis myself, but so far it hasn't developed into arthritis. It is a heartbreaking disease both mentally and physically. What are you taking for it? Enbrel, methatrexate? My heart goes out to you, sincerely. ((((((((((((Thoughts, prayers, and healing vibes)))))))))))) to you jhawker. Keep fighting man.

My friend my heart goes out to you! I am newbie to this ailment but it has made a rapid advancement thru out my body as I patiently await my June 29th appointment with a Rhumetologist. I too am scared and worried what the future will bring. Please do not hesitate to call me if you ever feel like venting or just talking. I am prayerful that you find a good plan of attack and peace in spite of the battle.

Stay STRONG!

Peace and healing vibes to you,

Tyler, you know you can call me whenever you feel this bad. It does not seem to ever get any better for you-just new adjustments to the bad, and that makes me feel bad. My health/age is getting to me more each year so I have a small degree of your frustrations, so my constant best wishes go out to you.

Sorry to hear this. My wife's family's females suffer from psoriasis all to some degree. That included an aunt with a very severe condition for the last 40 years of her life. poor woman endured many various treatments with minor relief. So, I hope modern medicine offers more relief for you.

I take Remicade. I do have to say that it has almost totally cleared up my psoriasis. I suffered with it for 25 years. The burn, itch, bleeding, is unbearable. I feel for you. There are other good medicines out there for psoriasis including Enbrel, Humira I believe. If they had these medicines long ago Jack's relatives would not had to endure the auto-immune disease. I think the best is remicade. All of them are around 15,000 dollars a year.

Tyler

I know I can call you Jack, but I would rather call you when I feel well.

You are probably too passionate in your defense of the man in the hat but I think you think you are doing the right thing when you fight about it and try to understand. Our blowup came when after more than a month of Dickey post re: the Beacon, I got tired of not being able to read about what had actually happened without hearing the same old, same old. Been a constant on this website since the split happened and it had died down until the 40th anniverary. So, I eventually just had enough. It was not personal on my part-just an old grump screaming for quiet (no matter how much the screaming added to the noise). I actually am quite easy to get along with.
But, I'll be seeing Dickey here in Colorado, if the dates hold up, 2 weeks before I'll see the ABB here, and I hope to enjoy both. I usually go early to Dickey's shows and talk to Pedro, who I like a lot.
Yes, I wish for my late aunt that other treatments were available. She did all the popular things at the time-standing in front of certain types of lights while naked to treat the skin; tar salves, etc., but nothing helped her much and she had it everywhere including burning and itching in places you don't want.

You may be right SmilingJack. I think that music and ABB music in particular is everyones passion on this site. Or at least one of the things that people on here are passionate about. It's just alway's blown my mind how much crap the guy takes after giving so much to this community. Ok, enough of that and back on topic. Oh yeah, I hope you have two great shows with the abb and dbgs.

I can relate to what your late(I'm sorry to hear about that)aunt went thru. I've got a uvb bed myself and use it when I feel like it's getting out of hand. It seems to help, but at what cost later down the road. ???

Anyway, I sincerely wish you guy's the best in all area's of your life, especially your health. Thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes to you and again please keep fighting the fight and don't give up. Shoot me a pm or open up another thread and keep me abreast of everything. Take care now.
