Found this on Guitar World Magazine website

http://www.guitarworld.com/article/robert_plant_denies_zep_reunion

File this one under “Communication Breakdown.”

Earlier this week, rumors of a Led Zeppelin one-off reunion show and possible 2008 tour circulated throughout the internet.

Yesterday, at a press conference in Greece for this weekend’s RockWave Festival, headliner Robert Plant denied the rumors and said he hadn’t heard anything about a Zep reunion.

When asked about the one-off show, Plant joked, “I don’t know if there would be enough doctors to support it.”

Previously, sources close to the Zeppelin camp had said that members Jimmy Page, Plant and John Paul Jones were planning to reunite for a memorial concert in London for Ahmet Ertegun, the Atlantic Records founder who died in 2006, and that if all went well, a full Zeppelin tour (with Jason Bonham on drums) would commence next year.

The RockWave Festival is happening June 29 and July 1 and 3, and will feature such artists as Plant, Metallica, Chris Cornell, Europe, Mastodon, My Dying Bride, Heaven and Hell, Dream Theater, Iced Earth and others. For more information, visit rockwavefestival.gr.

Not that it means anything but Plant denied the Page & Plant rumors years ago also.

LOL, Terri.
When they did the Page/Plant tour last time doing Zep music, Page, when asked why no John Paul Jones said, "2 into 50$million goes better than 3 into 50$million!" I don't know why he would change his greedy mind. But, I'd still go to either 2 or 3 of them getting together.

The issues go a little deeper than money. Posted a long interview with JPJ on here long ago. I will try and track it down again.

Look for Plant to do some dates with Alison Krauss in support of the upcoming album collaboration.

Plant only did one song on that disc with Allison Krauss. That doesn't sound like the basis for doing a tour with her. Maybe a guest appearance once or twice.

Which disc are you talking about??

Rust1: Wanna tell me what you're so upset about? The Allman Brothers Band is every bit as old as Zeppelin. You frequent this site, I assume you're a fan. If ABB had been inactive as long as Zeppelin has, would you be just as annoyed by reunion talk? Cream did it; why not Zeppelin?

I am very sad to see that Robert now has man boobs :-( I saw him at Irving Plaza last year and he had them then, too. See for yourself:

Plant @ Irving Plaza, March 2006
http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/robertplant/photos/collection/photo/5/l arge

And I was one of the man's biggest fans at one time. Sad to see what the years of hard living have done to him. I mean, Clapton's his age and he looks much better. I'd daresay Roger Daltrey looks better too, and Mick Jagger...goes without saying how great he looks...he still has that youthful spark and exuberance.

Their ages:

Robert Plant: turns 59 next month (bday 20 Aug 1948)
Daltrey: turned 63 this year (bday 1 March 1944)
Jagger: turns 64 this month (bday 26 July 1943)
Clapton: turned 62 this year (bday 30 March 1945)

BTW...at age 58 (bday 8 December 1947), our Gregg is a young pup :-)

Maybe this should be a whole new thread...our favorite classic rockers' ages and our thoughts on whether they are aging gracefully, since hey, we ALL have to do it, one way or another!

By the way, as a side note, the Irving Plaza show KILLED. Just about every Zep song he played was done in a completely different and fresh arrangement. His band, Strange Sensation, was top-shelf. And the opening band, The Soundtrack of Our Lives, weren't shabby either (on the contrary...they were excellent).

Setlist:

1. No Quarter
2. Shine It All Around
3. Black Dog
4. Freedom Fries
5. Morning Dew
6. Heartbreaker
7. That's The Way
8. All The King's Horses
9. If I Were A Carpenter
10. Darkness Darkness
11. Tin Pan Valley
12. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
13. Tall Cool One
14. When The Levee Breaks
14. The Enchanter
16. Whole Lotta Love

WarrenMcCae: Check schneile's posts before you go saying Plant can't sing Zeppelin. By the way, when's the last time YOU'VE seen Robert Plant?

Say what ya want about how RP looks, I could care less. He can still hit alot of those hi C's where, Daltry, Jagger et al can't. I saw the Stange Sensation Tour last year at Massey Hall in Toronto and it was a fabulous show of new and old. I haven't missed a Plant Tour since Bonham's death including the Page Plant reunion tour and all of the shows were incredible. My 2 cents.

Yep. Strange sensation are a tight band as well and the show I saw in Albuquerque was great. Robert was in fine vocal and there was a great mix of tunes.

Sure he is not gonna hit some of those notes but he knows his range and can make it work for the song. He is a professional. A Zeppelin tour with Jason Bonham will be the most anticipated tour in some time. That's is not to say that Robert wants to as he as stated over and over again.

I will line-up for that show along with all of you who say you won't but will end up there. It is real easy to be critical from the sidelines.

Besides, How many of us were freaking out when ABB slipped into "dazed and confused" from mountain jam at the Beacon in March?

I agree completely. Sure he might sing some stuff lower but he isn't a kid anymore. I have never seen a bad show either and most were awesome.

Daltry hasn't been able to sing some stuff for twenty years now. Just can't hit some notes. Pete can actually sing some of the Who stuff better.

Robert may have man boobs but he still seems to have avoided the belly that gets most of us.

I don't know about this. I think that he's redirecting attention. To me, something is brewing. With John Paul Jones participating in a rehearsal of sorts at Bonnaroo, and Plant headlining some of the biggest festivals in Europe, there is definitely something going on in the Zeppelin camp.

As far as what some people are saying about Plant's performance ability, I can't comment from experience. But, some people on here have said that he can still belt it out on stage, and his recent album (2005) with Strange Sensation got some seriously good reviews.

Upon furthur review, your info may be more accurate than mine.

Absolutely

quote:
I had read that Allison was recording a duets disc with several different people. But now I see that the reports say that only Plant is involved. Plant's new DVD was released by Allison's label Rounder Records, which lends some creedence to the report.

I am the only 'creedence' you need. Never doubt me, man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

quote:
T-Bone Burnett is producing the disc. To me, this seems like an unlikely duo, but Allison Krauss can sing with anyone.

That is correct.

Surel Rob, one thing first-I'm not upset. What I was referring to actually had nothing to do with the band, only the incessant rumors that are always swirling around about their supposed reformations.

What I was insinuating, more or less, was a general pining for the cessation of those responsible for creating the rumors, i.e., the media. For example, if I was creating rumors about Led Zeppelin reforming, those rumors would constitute a general feeling of the viability of the band in regards to touring. Now, if the year was 2030 or so, and Plant and Page were in their 90's, I would refrain from starting those rumors, since I would know that the band would cease to be a viable entity in regards to touring.
