My wife's all hot for one of these. I could . . . Dilligaf, as BDOB would say.

500-600 bucks, sheesh. I've got a fifty dollar phone and a 60 dollar generic MP3 player. I'm fine.

I bought my wife the Chocolate phone that was $ 250.00 when it came out. I ended up with a free POC. Now the Chocolate phones are buy one get one. I will wait. Looks cool though

It seems to be really cool....but too complicated for my pea brain...plus, I don't want to give up my Verizon service to have one.

If I didn't have the one below, I would get an iPhone....

Same here, Droogie. I don't need the latest greatest gadget to be happy. ALTHOUGH....I have a Zen MP3 player that I use on my bike, and I think an Ipod might work better, because even though I can arrange the song files as I wish while the Zen is hooked up to the computer, it will reset itself and mess up my play list order. Ipods are better for organizing song files.

I've had my Iphone for about a month now and love it. Although the AT&T service isn't as good as my verizon I still enjoy the phone. It has so many things that you can do on it and the best part is they all work as advertised! Easy to set up and use and my monthly bill is actually a little less than when I had my blackberry.

I would love to have one, but heard the monthly rates/fees are terribly high.

They are very impressive, but I wouldn't go with one yet...
too high priced... and they don't integrate with business systems as well as other choices... but thats probably not a problem for a home user (if thats what she would be)...

I've looked at a few phones recently as I'm getting an upgrade from work... I looked at the Palms, Blackberrys and the windows mobile devices...

the palms were nice but didn't impress me much. The new windows mobile devices were really nice imo... like the Samsung i760 (available at Verizon at least)... and I would go with that if we weren't getting a Blackberry server at work cause it works with ANY data plan...

Looks like I'm going with a blackberry... and imo, the interface is 2nd to none... now some of that IS personal opinon (but it really is one of their strong suits)...

I'm looking at either a Blackberry Pearl 8130, 8830 WE or a 8320 Curve... the last two have full keyboards but I hate big phones... I'd really like the curve but it's only available at T-mobile (and I have a year left on my Sprint contract)...

There are still other options then an ipod... look at the Cowon products... I have the U3, but would love to get one of these:
iaudio 7 - upto 16GB flash based

or
for HD based the x5 has been around for a good while and is a very nice device...

I would wait to get the next generation iPhone with 3G wireless technology. Right now you need to be in a wireless network to access the internet/email.

With 3G, you can access it anywhere, ie your car.

Yesterday I had to go to the mall to get a gift. I was going down the elevator and some kid in front of me had a brand new iPhone and dropped it.... broken just like that, She said she just bought it from the store 5 minutes ago.

Yeah, I'll get one when my Verizon committment is up - AND while I still get a huge discount with my daughter working at Apple. At least I will get one before she leaves. Her phone ROCKS! Takes great pictures, internet access is jammin fast, YouTube at a touch, great e-mail access! I love this thing!

I hope she bought the breakage protection....

I laugh when they ask me if I want it on the free/$50 phones as the cost ends up being higher then just buying a new phone after a year or so...

but with any smartphone (read: expensive MF'ers) its VERY worth it...
