I would have to say Win, Lose, or Draw. It is a classic, i really like it, and i listen to it pretty often.

i mean come on, it has louisiana lou and three card monty john, high falls, win lose or draw, cant lose what you never had and just another love song. these are all solid tracks.

what do you think?

"Win, Lose or Draw" is IMHO the ABB at it's most "coked out" worse. Was it's Gregg's album or Dickey's? The album didn't have a band feel whatsoever. Granted there were some good songs "Win, Lose or Draw", "High Falls", and "Can't Lose What You Never Had", but by and large the album was only delivered because the CRS (Capricorn Rythrm Section) was there to fill in the gaps. Consider the albums that the ABB delivered before, Win, Lose or Draw was a huge disappointment. And truth is, "Rock Stardom" ruined it. No wonder the ABB broke up shortly after it's release.

Have to admit, that was a good "comeback" album, and Dickey showed a lot of leadership there.

I think that's an excellent answer. Outside of this site, it does not get nearly the respect and attention it deserves as the absolute all time best live album, bar none.

I completely disagee, if you go to any sites (Rolling Stones reviews, ect) Fillmore East is universally agreed upon as the ABB "high water mark". Indeed not only for the ABB, but for "live recordings" in general, "Fillmore East" IS the standard. Definely not "underrated".

Enlightened Rogues.

I cringe when I hear that one lumped in with Reach for the Sky and Brothers of the Road. Its nothing like those 2 albums.

1) No Mike Lawler

2) No Synthisizer at all.

3) No 4 back up singers

4) Not an Arista album

5) Last ABB album on Capricorn

6) Produced by Tom Dowd

It is in my opinion a completly killer Allman Brothers album. A spectacular come back record. The singing is stellar. The playing is inspired. A classic Betts instrumental. A "must have" ABB album.

They sound energised, enthusiastic and completly smokin. "Hittin the Note" in a big way.

"D"

I agree that Win Lose or Draw is better than it gets credit for. But I disagree about the songs.

To me these are the classic ABB tracks...

1) Cant Lose What You Never Had
2) Just Another Love Song (put a 2 minute solo in the middle and its another Blue Sky)
3) Win Lose or Draw
4) Sweet Mama (its a cover, but pure ABB.)
5) High Falls

Louisiana Lou and Nevertheless are badly flawed imo.

And to me up till that time Dickys slide had never sounded more "Duane like" then on Sweet Mama and Cant Lose.

In some ways, given the situation at the time I don't really consider Win, Lose or Draw to be a true Allman Brothers Band album. IMO, the only good tunes on the album are the Title Cut, Can't Lose What You Never Had, and, of course, High Falls. To my ears, the rest is just filler.

rogues ,back where it all begins,7 turns and shades of 2 worlds...sorry for the long list but i think all of these albums are top notch and don't get enough credit....win lose or draw sounds to me like a parody of the allman brothers...i happen to think the songs change my way of living, sailing cross the devils sea and all night train from back where it all begins are unsung classics

oh but it is, you can't put into words what this album is, you could call it the bible and it'd still be underated.
