I do not believe it - the boys are at an all-time musical high . They are at a place where nobody else has ever visited .

Why **** that up ?

I would say the same but a friend of mine who seems to be in the know all the time says he was told this. I hope that it is not true and I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything?

Yes its true. Warren decided it would be best just to tell a few people and then they could go tell their friends who could go post it on fan web sites. So be sure to pass it along on every appropriate fam message board one can think of.

It might be, but I'll wait to hear it from the band before I react.

This rumor has gone around for years. He is not leaving. He has no reason to leave. And if he were going to leave you would hear it from an official source.

I read it twice before I caught the sarcasm...a messageboard is a hard place to convey emotion.....

Yes. I realized that and laughed out loud when I read your post. I wasn't responding to you but to the same people you were responding to. I was just throwing my own two cents in.

Well if Warren ever did decide to leave the ABB, there are a lot of projects and interesting activities he could do.

I have always wanted to hear Warren with a few other acoustic players like Kofi Burbridge on the flute, Jason Crosby on the violin and of course Derek on the national steel. :-) Or really any ensemble of his choosing for his singer/songwriter material. I have been very fortunate to hear the Warren Derek duo on Old Friends and Kofi joined Warren in Sad and Deep As You both at the Vibes in 02. Two very special highlights to all the work I've seen him do. And of course,I totally wish he would do more solo shows than has been the case since the summer of 04.

I also think Warren has a lot of talent as a music producer.

So while I enjoy his work with the ABB, I would support any of his activities if they were ever to move away from being in the ABB. You know he is in his mid 40's and he just may someday want to explore some other things. Until then I will of course catch him with the ABB as I can.

I say this with a lot of respect toward his work with the ABB.

I don't hope so. I need to see ABB with Warren Haynes as soon as possible but I can't go to USA until the next december. I would like to see the Mule the 3 latest nights of the year and if is possible to see ABB too. You know... I live in Spain and it's a long way and I think Gregg doesn't want to come here with ABB.

Warren isn't going anywhere, this rumor gets started every year, hell most of the people I still talk to think Dickey's still IN the band....We are in the one percent after all aren't we? And as crazy as it sounds just ask your friends outside the ABB circle who plays guitar for the band and you'll probably hear "butch truck's son and Dickey Betts." Most people who are even mediocre fans of this band know nothing of 'Hittin' the note or the Beacon DVD.

The only bit of revelance this story may have is that on June 2nd Warren did an interview with Carter Alan on WZLX and said the ABB felt they did "too many" shows last year and that they were cutting down on some touring. That's pretty much it.

I should apologize for the sarcastic reply though as I realize the originator of the thread was merely seeking information. I do reallize that with the schedules Warren and Derek keep its the type of thing thats going to continuosly pop up from time to time. Would think its logical though that anyone who is in the position to know such plans isn't going to answer a question on fan message boards or they would not have information shared with them to begin with.

Yes it's true. Warren is leaving the ABB. You see there are soooooo many women that want to have his child that he's decided to devote himself fulltime to this prodigious effort....

Warren is a monster and I hope he never leaves. Having said that,he does have GM to take care of. If mule ever goes big i could see it happening, otherwise the ABB plays such a limited summer tour and virtually never goes in the studio Warren has plenty of time for the Mule.

The ABB seems to be down to less than 50 shows a year so they are going to keep it close to home. I feel bad about all the European and other non-American fans but what can you do? At least you have Mule and DTB touring Europe. And I saw Bela and the Flecktones tonight and Bela said they just got back from Spain.

Isn't Warren a principle owner of the ABB along with Gregg, Butch and Jaimoe?
