I'm pretty sure Warren plays an Alvarez acoustic- anyone know what model it is?

Both Warren and Dickey played Alvarez Yairi's in the early days 89-96. However, Warren is shown holding a Taylor cutaway on the Live At Bonnaroo acoustic release. Also if my memory serves me right I believe I've seen him recently with a Gibson which only seems right since I'm pretty sure he endorses their electrics. I remember the early days check BWIAB or some of the early Mule. Warren was something of an endorsement whore. I remember reading Warren uses Gibson, Fender, PRS, Aria, Alvarez, Guild, etc., etc. Lol!
Of course who could blame the ol' tarheel.

I didn't see him playing any Taylors at Bonnaroo. However, his cutaway from Bonnaroo is a Gibson. And there are some pics of him playing a Yairi Alvarez in Guitar World Acoustic a few months ago. I'm sure you could get someone from Alvarez on the phone to find out. BUt I definitely haven't seen him playing Taylors. He used to play a cutaway Takamine, as in the Great Woods footage. ANd it's funny but you can pick out the tone of his Takamine and his Gibson very distinctively.

He's holding a Yairi Alvarez on the cover of his Bonnaroo album

I did a quick search on the Alvarez homepage & found Warren endorsing two models. The WY1 & WY1BK (Black), neither of which is the one on the Bonnaroo cover. In the Bonnaroo DVD from 2003 Warren performs Beautifully Broken on a Gibson.

If you look at the photos in these two albums posted on the Bonnaroo site you can see he's playing a Yairi AJ60SC, but with the bridge they use on their 12-string model (I have spent a good five minutes trying to figure that one out), and a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe.

Slowhand6, you and Tom/Flavum are great to have around. If I make it on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, y'all are going to be my lifelines. Lol! I have an Alvarez acoustic and although it needs fret work, the tone is better than any new Guild or Gibson.

At town hall last June Warren played a Martin. Was not close enough to pick out the model. He played the Alvarez on all of the slide stuff. Closed the show on a beautiful D'Angelico archtop playing Stella Blue.

There was a lot of talk a few months ago on these forums about Derek & Warren playing D"Angelicos. Let me tell you, those babies are not for the faint of heart. A pretty penny you will spend there.

I've been pondering the Professional or Master series Alvarez'z & the Yairi line- the Yairi's are quite nice.
I don't dare check the D"Angelico link...
