Just watched Trump Covid daily update. No doctors there, and why would they be? When Dr. Trump is in the house, who needs a Dr. Fauci or Dr. Birx? Dr. Trump bragged about the great testing. Would be more interested in him addressing the 150K deaths or millions of positive cases. Look where we are and where the rest of the world is. Trump touts the greatest always, and our numbers speak for themselves. He is achieving the "greatest" numbers daily. He is Number 1.

He talked about Dr. Fauci's poll numbers being much higher than his own. That's what he talks about in an address to the American people and during a a pandemic. Poor poor Donnie - He's jealous of those good numbers for Dr. Fauci.

But the best today was Dr. Trump revisiting the old movie of "Trump Touts Hydroxychloroquine" He's on a roll again suggesting that it can be used and is SAFE. He's advocating a drug that is not recommended. Below is what the FDA says about Hydroxy - Dr. Trump's fav drug.

July 1, 2020 Update: A summary of the FDA review of safety issues with the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to treat hospitalized patients with COVID-19 is now available. This includes reports of serious heart rhythm problems and other safety issues, including blood and lymph system disorders, kidney injuries, and liver problems and failure.

June 15, 2020 Update: Based on ongoing analysis and emerging scientific data, FDA has revoked the emergency use authorization (EUA) to use hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to treat COVID-19 in certain hospitalized patients when a clinical trial is unavailable or participation is not feasible. We made this determination based on recent results from a large, randomized clinical trial in hospitalized patients that found these medicines showed no benefit for decreasing the likelihood of death or speeding recovery. This outcome was consistent with other new data, including those showing the suggested dosing for these medicines are unlikely to kill or inhibit the virus that causes COVID-19. As a result, we determined that the legal criteria for the EUA are no longer met. Please refer to the Revocation of the EUA Letter and FAQs on the Revocation of the EUA for Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate and Chloroquine Phosphate for more information.

Was his announcement of the transformation of that "Great Old Company" from "The Good Old Days" Kodak into Kodak Pharmaceuticals part of his briefing? That was sort of jaw-dropping.

Especially given that Trump seemed to be imparting news that generic drugs are made in India & China. Anyone else know that already? Well, now that Great Old Company from Rochester NY is going to make them in the US! Under the supervision of the BEST people. This is the 33rd time he's used the DPA. 33rd - but he's not bragging.

And Gov. Cuomo was a GRRRRRREAT partner.

He sounds like he's going to start shouting Gee Willikers or Golly Gee or some other catch phrase from the Golden Age of the 1950s when there was no civil, gay, or gender rights law on the books.

Dr. Birx was otherwise occupied advising the governor of Virginia (and other southern states) about moving back instead of forward in certain areas - particularly beach towns. While parts of that state will move into Phase 3, the area of Virginia Beach will have capacity caps, early closings, & mandated masks due to the flocks of "tourons" as Rusty calls them.

Birx also said the virus is headed back up North. All the more reason for Trump to push re-opening.

Va Beach was pretty much business as usual. And people wonder why numbers started increasing.

Related and newsworthy but not surprising of Dr. Trump.

Facebook, Twitter and YouTube take down false coronavirus "cure" video shared by Trump

And in the "like father like son department"

But, the New (Medicated) Donald merely took up his papers & walked out when a reporter pressed him on that. He was polite in an explanation. She persisted. He left. He handled that well. Either he's had an epiphany that his combative style isn't presidential or he's on mood stabilizers.

I read that part of the Kodak deal is that it will make hydroxychloroquine. One of the reasons for it being pulled from Covid was that supplies for lupus patients - for which it is intended - weren't available. Guess Trump is determined to be the Jonas Salk of Covid.

This is one of the doctors in the Trump retweet. She certainly seems credible - a perfect fit in Trump World. Where do these crazies come from?

Trump retweeted a video with false covid-19 claims. One doctor in it has said demons cause illnesses.

Here's a standout paragraph. This shows the creat thinking of someone Trump gave attention to.

"As the Daily Beast’s Will Sommer first noted, Immanuel has asserted that many gynecological issues are the result of having sex with witches and demons (“succubi” and “incubi”) in dreams, a myth that dates back at least to the “Epic of Gilgamesh,” a Sumerian poem written more than 4,000 years ago. She falsely claims that issues such as endometriosis, infertility, miscarriages and STIs are “evil deposits from the spirit husband.”

What was so amazing about Trump's performance was that the reporter noted this woman's crazy medicine - vaccine v. religion, something about aliens, etc. & he responded in a polite tone that he didn't know the woman who had identified herself as a doctor & recounted her success w/patients. When the reporter pressed him, he didn't go into a tantrum - going off on the female reporter & mocking her or her failing organization or doing anything he usually does (to women, to reporters, to anything he doesn't want to hear). He merely picked up his papers, said something polite, & left. The New Donald.

Americans look (& apparently are) stupid in the eyes of the rest of the world. No matter what age, gender, political affiliation, everyone (including children) is susceptible to this VIRUS. It's a medical thing that can infect, sicken, & kill us. There is no vaccine on the market. Testing is not readily available depending upon where one lives. There is no cure - there are some treatments, including intubation, but no cure. It's airborne. Beyond that, not much is known how long it lives on surfaces or even how far it can spread through the air.

The ONLY thing that prevents the spread of the virus is staying away from other people. People may have it & be asymptomatic. Public health experts recommend quarantine if you know you've been exposed, sheltering at home depending upon the # of cases in an area, staying 6' away from another person, wearing a mask around other people, and constant hand washing. We've been hearing this since February. Most governors put policies in place to prevent spread back in March.

As soon as those policies were lifted - in phases, some people starting doing what they'd always done - without distancing, masks, handwashing, or quarantine. Basic logic would mean cases would go up. They did.

Now, Americans are pariahs around the world (the EU, UK, and even Canada won't even let us visit) and at home (some states don't allow visitors from specific states or require that visitors from other states quarantine in their destination for 14 days before venturing out into their state). At home, some states are halting re-opening & going back to shelter in place.

All because a large segment of Americans are either too stupid or too selfish to follow safety precautions.

The reporter was Kaitlin Collins. She's very good at what she does. You could presumably or possibly see her fact checking as she questioned Trump. She challenged Trump on the quack doc that Trump gives credibility to.

BTW - Trump defended the quack again today. He & family can never admit wrong even if facts are presented to the contrary. He also won't ever back down from a good conspiracy.

As far as your "The New Donald". I suspect his handlers have told him his style alienates, and for the short term he actually listened. I have confidence that the short term is actually that. As he continues to slide in the polls, as his police state takeover fails, and as his leadership on Covid plunges, expect Trump to become agitated and revert to the Donald that everyone knows and loves.

Someone here predicted tomorrow would be the last day of The New Donald - a week from his 1st appearance. Trump hasn't listened to anyone - maybe Ivanka - since Day 1. There's a remote possibility that changing campaign managers last week(ish) could be behind this performance change. Even when he was pointing out that HIS administration hired Fauci (no) & therefore, HIS #s should equal to or higher than Fauci's for being so clever as to bring in the best expert, he wasn't ranting as he once would've done - more like he was musing.

As you point out, he's still touting hydroxychlorquine (& forcing Kodak Pharmaceuticals to make it as part of the deal) w/whatever source he has - crazy or not. What's changed is his demeanor. That's what makes me think he's sedated or on a mood stabilizer (possibly mixed in w/his morning Diet Coke w/o his knowledge). We'll see how long that lasts.

She reinforces his conspiracy theories and lies. Believe it or not, she even goes further than him with crazy talk. That is why he likes her even though he indicated he doesn't know much about her. For all he knows, he may not really know if she's a doctor - only that she makes wacko statements like he makes. Therefore, that's good enough to take up time on Twitter and on the Reality Covid Series he's now hosting - the show without any medical specialists. It's must see TV.

Given Caligula and Caligula, Jr.’s big yank for the hydro, I suspect they have a financial interest in increasing its sales. Which also might explain their insistence that Kodak produce it as part of their new shakedown/gov’t backed deal...

Everything with the Trump crime family comes down to money after all and if a few people are distracted by the noise that it helps Covid 19, well all the better.

Good for the tech companies in that they finally have stopped peddling the Trump nonsense and flat out lies on their platforms.

Let me rephrase and ask it differently.

Which candidate won the Presidency despite what the polls stated?

Some call them riots. Some call them protests. You get two choices: take it or leave it.

Riot: "a violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd."

Protest : "a statement or action expressing disapproval of or objection to something."

Notice how one definition includes the word "Violence" and the other, does not.

There is a distinct difference in the two.

So you mean this guy: https://www.npr.org/sections/live-updates-protests-for-racial-justice/2020/ 07/28/896515022/minneapolis-police-reportedly-identify-viral-umbrella-man-a s-white-supremacist

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Minneapolis police arson investigator Erika Christensen wrote in a search warrant affidavit filed this week that the man's actions created a hostile atmosphere and sparked a series of events that turned previously peaceful protests chaotic. She said she believed his "sole aim was to incite violence."

So the blame for the violent acts committed, lays with the individual who "provoked" and not with the people who "Committed"? Prosecute the hell out of not only "The umbrella-wielding" man and every moron who thought it a good idea to "follow". Enough cells to go around for all of these geniuses.

Does free will at any time will enter into this laughable defense?

Nice try

I disagree with that assessment, but you are entitled to your opinion. There were a number of peaceful protesters who attempted to stop him which helped lead to his capture.

Is Anybody responsible for the looting, burning and rioting?..or can they all hide behind the veil of "Protesting"?....

The fires did not start all by themselves, The looting was not done on line. To assume ALL persons out there in the streets were law abiding citizens is ludicrous. Good for the peeps who "stood up"...But just check out the videos, LOTS of non-peaceful "participants"...

Since you are not in Portland, read up on it rather than assuming. It's the few who wish to riot who are hiding behind the protestors.

To assume that none of the protesters are peaceful, which you have implied many times, is equally as ludicrous.
