I was hoping the 'Stones would reschedule ASAP and honor the tickets already sold. I had a direct deposit from Rolling Stones Inc. into my account for the refund. Ringo (and his Allstars) rescheduled for exactly 1 year and one day later! I'm keeping those tickets! Seems that the 'Stones run and operate every facet of their operation? I'm guessing that it must've made business sense to just re-cast the entire tour - if it happens at all.

Best band out there now, Allman Betts Band.

Of course a band that is almost as exciting, The Rolling Stones, are on my list.

Seriously I thought the Allman Betts Band was real fine for what I was expecting when I saw them early this year. See them if you get a chance. They are a nice addition to the ABB family of bands which of course includes Govt Mule, especially when Marcus King sits in and TTB.

Of yes want to see Clapton one more time if I'm still living. At age 73, same as Peter Green, I may not make it if I catch that virus. Peter I just read died in his sleep as did twice Academy Award winner Olivia de Havilland recently in age 104.

With Keith Richards and Dickey Betts older than me and living harded than me and still living gives me hope to make it to this Christmas.

Oh BTW, the cable provider I have has a feature where you can click and see the cast in a movie or TV show at the bottom with a picture of each actor or actress. There is an actor named Keith Richards who appears in a lot of western film and TV shows in the 40's and 50's and when you activate that feature when that actor is on, it shows Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. And when its Thomas Jackson, you get an old photo of Stonewall Jackson in his Confederate uniform.

Just checked on my Stones tickets for San Diego and they are still active awaiting a rescheduled date. I hope that stays true and a new date is scheduled.

Have tickets for Keb' Mo' in March and Black Crowes in August 2021
Dead & Company wherever and whenever they play

I am still holding tickets for Wilco and for The Musical Box. I look forward to seeing those rescheduled shows.

Otherwise, I am itching to see Steve Hackett and of course Tedeschi Trucks.

Those are the artists I am most interested in.

More than anything, I can't wait to get back to seeing local talent return to stages.
A lot of these folks make most or all of their incomes playing music at local venues. I plan on taking an extra quarter or two for the tip jar!

Who won't I see? If it's safe to go to concerts in 2021, I may go to 50!

I will see Tedeschi Trucks Band and Jayhawks multiple times for certain.

I will definitely go to one of the festivals at Spirit of Suwanee Park.

Looking forward to visiting the Fox and Chastain Park here in Atlanta.

And if some crazy reason things are back to normal around Thanksgiving, The Last Waltz Ensemble is an Atlanta holiday tradition that is unbelievably good and fun each year. I suspect that may not be until Thanksgiving 2021 (at the earliest!)

Out of all the bands most of us here like I say the Rolling Stones is the one not to miss. They are a SUPERGROUP that goes back to 1963. They have outlasted and out sold just about any band or musician you can think of. Certainly they cant be around much longer.

There are other bands/artists that pre-date The Stones and many have out sold them both in album sales and tickets sold for shows.

I get your point and am all for The Stones playing but neither of those statements is true. And as for longevity, it is a bit misleading to claim all these years when they don't tour or release an album for long stretches of time. Other classic rock bands will tour each year like Deep Purple while Mick/Keith have no idea where each other even are.

CanadianMule. The Rolling Stones formed in 1962, 58 years ago. What rock or blues band formed before the Stones that is still touring? Sure Mick and Keith were not speaking in the 1980s so they didn't tour most of the 1980s. Charlie Watts wasn't sure the band was still together for awhile. But the Allman Brothers didn't tour during much of the 1980s. Little Feat, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Doobie Brothers and lots of bands have been inactive for periods including the Eagles.

The Stones have released 30 studio albums, 23 live albums, 25 compilation albums and 120 singles and have sold over 240 million albums worldwide, 5 number one albums in the US in a row, held over 48 tours including three of the highest grossing tours of all time.

Their first official show was July 12th, 1962 at the Marquee Club in London.

Mick and Keith are worth over 300 million dollars, Charlie Watts 175 million and Ron Wood 90 million. The richest Allman Brother is Dickey Betts at 40 million.

I can't think of any bands that have done much better and have been together before 1962.

The Rolling Stones are much bigger by any measure than the Allman Brothers, my favorite band, and is like comparing McDonald's to In and Out Burgers to ABB family bands. Gregg Allman solo, Dickey solo, Govt Mule, TTB are small bar bands compared to the Stones.

Even when compared to Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Eagles, the Stones are right there.

If I'm not seeing this correctly then which bands have outsold the Stones album wise and ticket wise so handily? Hard to think of any that go back before 1962 and are still together as far as we know.

Metallica is a huge band and real good if you like hard rock and heavy metal.

They use to start by playing Ecstacy of Gold from the 1966 Western movie The Good, Bad and Ugly on the speakers.

Kirk Hammett owns Peter Green's classic out of phase Greeny Gibson Les Paul now. Supposed to have paid 2 million bucks for it. Kirk mostly plays ESP guitars with whammy bars. He usually takes about 10 ESP guitars on tour. ESP stands for Electric Sound Products and bills itself as high quality electric guitars and basses based in Tokyo and Los Angeles. Looking at their product, they have some wild designs that one would imagine in a heavy metal band or Kiss.

Some are Les Paul, Strat, Explorer, Flying V look alikes with enough difference to keep from being sued. Indeed one model Kirk played had a head stock too similar to a Jackson and Jackson threatened legal action. But apparently about all Kirk did to his is turn the headstock upside down.

Hammett plays a Jackson on a couple of songs as well as an Ibenez.

Kirk paid 2 million for Peter Green's out of phase Gibson Les Paul and has it on tour too since 2015 but only plays it on Whiskey In A Jar.

Gary Moore owned the guitar for years and loved the unique tone it had being out of phase apparently accidentally from the factory. Gary pestered Peter so much that Peter Green agreed to sell Gary the guitar for whatever he could get for the SG Gary was using as his number one at the moment. About 26 years later Gary needed money to get him out of debt for a big tour he had to cancel due to hurting his hand. Later Kirk Hammett purchased it for 2 million. Peter Green purchased the 1959 Les Paul in 2966 used for 300 dollars. There were plenty of 1959 Les Pauls around needing owners in 1966 but this 59 didn't sound like any of them. Why? It was discovered either by accident or no, one of the pickups was fitted the wrong way making the guitar out of phase when the pickup switch was in the middle. Peter claimed he reversed it while tinkering. Also a repairman claimed he did. But when examined carefully in 1984 by legendary guitar tech Jol Dantzig, it was discovered it was a factory error. Also Joe Bonamassa who owns way over 100 guitars found a 1959 Sunburst Les Paul with the same factory mistake. Peter said he ended up selling it to his close teenage friend at the time Gary Moore for the same 300 dollars he paid for it. Peter said he really wasn't interested in playing it or any guitar by then. Peter said he knew Gary loved the guitar so it would have a good home.

In 2006 Gary was forced to sell it to pay off a big tour he had to cancel at the last moment because he hurt his hand or be sued. Gary got a million dollars for the guitar after using it often for 26 years. Gary often played a Strat with whammy bar on much of his show back in those days but always put on the Les Paul for songs such as Still Got The Blues and Parisienne Walkways and played it exclusively on Gary's 1995 album Blues For Greeny which featured all Peter Green compositions.

Interesting story about a very famous Les Paul.

Since it is now impossible to see Peter Green play again, enjoy this incredible guitar playing. It's not the out of phase Les Paul but yet the tone and licks are incredible.

When you have players on Peter Green's level, they could make a Sears Silvertone sound better than an expensive Les Paul in most other hands.

The great Peter Green!!!

Blackey - 240 million in sales is comical. Those are the fictional numbers. actual sales are just over 100 million. There are acts that bury them in sales. If you want to believe otherwise - that is cool - but just because Google gives you info - doesn't make it right. The Beatles fictional numbers are between 600 million and one billion. Zeppelin's fictional numbers are 300 million plus. But much better to use actual certified numbers.

Zeppelin topped The Stones entire career with ten albums. Their sales in the US alone are greater than The Stones worldwide.

As for touring, The Stones have have some extremely successful tours sucking people in at $200+ for tickets and made mountains of money. But they do it every ten years or so. In the world of actual asses in the seats, many acts have toured far beyond The Stones.

Those are the two things that I said we not right about The Stones and it is fact. They are not the Top Selling Act nor are they the Top Touring Act. One could debate whether or not they are an actual band. If not touring, recording or even speaking for years on end - is that really being a band?

Love The Stones so no need to try and convince me further. One of the greatest bands but not #1 in any category.
