Okay, so yesterday I took my dear, 82 year-old aunt to see her Dermatologist. She's got a mystery rash that's spooking her, so I decided to take her.

This Dermatologist is located in a medical arts building -exactly right across the hall from my own GP. When I visited my own GP just last Friday, I was met at the front door with a team bearing thermometers and masks. Only TWO people at a time - wearing masks - were permitted into the office lobby - which, again is right across the hall from auntie's Dermatologist.

Yesterday's appointment with auntie's Dermatologist? More like a tea party for 5 year-olds. Only my aunt, one other person and myself wearing the mask that is required by every other doctor in this facility. There were even people with their very young children in tow - all visiting a doctor's office unmasked.

I asked the receptionist - who called the doctor to come over. According to this Dermatologist, ""Sick people" don't come here (to her office). So I asked, "so, skin cancer ain't that big a deal?" She seemed rather happy for me to leave.

"Sick people don't come here?!" But what about the sick people in the elevator & in the halls going to doctors who treat sick people? Sounds like auntie needs a new dermatologist. And everyone thinks predictions of a spike because people are getting careless are over-reacting...

I very nearly broke out the "Dr. Pimple-Popper" line!

Amen, brother Ben! This skin irritation probably won't require further attention, but if it does - new Dermatologist!

I'm pretty sure that my comments and questions drew some level of ire from the unmasked. I wasn't trying to be an alarmist, by any means. My perspective: I've described my aunt here before: Lupas, Diabetes, several other immune related maladies and 82 birthdays. I felt like I'd lured her right into the Corona pit! It doesn't help that with her 82 year old rationale - getting her to understand wearing a mask or doing anything else to dodge germs is just a good idea. Seeing the others not wearing masks devolved into a discussion not unlike one that you'd have with a 4 year old.

But, yeah - new Dermatologist!

Shame about the bad experience Rusty, my buddy loves going to his dermatologist, I use my GP, my wife had a bad experience with a Dermatologist, the guy cut quite a few chunks out her, they did not heal real well, not sure all were necessary, I got a wicked bill, which they were slightly sh!tty about...........Peace.......Continue To Be Smart...........joe

I had cataract surgery one of the last days they did it in Illinois - March 11. I went to a follow up appointment the next day. The next week I saw my optometrist, and by then she was only seeing emergencies and post op patients. They cancelled my next appointment, and rescheduled it for next Wednesday. Got a call from them yesterday - said my car is the waiting room - when I get there I call them - they ask a bunch of questions, and if all answers are no they will tell me when to come in. I have to wear a mask for the visit.

All seems to make sense to me ....
