Haha, well, maybe the first part.

Flynn's defense attorney, Sidney Powell, says the Washington Post has the transcripts (leaked) and since they haven't released them that says there is nothing incriminating on them [because the WaPost would only release them if it helped the argument/case/imaging against Flynn, right].

Of course she would say something like that. I'm not so sure.

Until we know those this whole Obamagate thing is nothing.

Did the FBI set up Flynn? Maybe. Is that the first time it has ever happened, is this the first time a defendant was pressured to plead guilty to something? Not saying it is right, just saying it happens.

The only crime, is the person that leaked Flynn's name to the press. That person when found should be prosecuted.

If we get the transcripts and Flynn wasn't talking about anything nefarious with Kislyak then there is some explaining to do why he was unmasked.

My assumption is there was good reason to find out who was having the kind of conversations Flynn was having with Kislyak, assuming he was having suspect and questionable conversations. And if that is true I would want the FBI and intelligence officials to act just like they did. If the conversations were typical of what an incoming intelligence chief might talk about with a foreign ambassador, then the this thing has legs.

Definition of Obamagate = another Trump distraction, change the conversation from Trump calamities & failures, tie down the Trump voting base, Trump envy and jealousy of a more popular & 2 time president and a statesman.

The thing about the distraction argument relies upon the presumption that Trump thinks he needs to distract from the horrible job he is doing with all the failures and calamities. Do you really think Trump believes he is causing calamity and failure? Not asking you or anyone else what you think, or I think, but what Trump thinks.

I can't imagine Trump actually believing he is doing a horrible job so then the need to distract in the eyes of us isn't necessary. At least that is how I look at it. I'm pretty confident that Trump thinks he is the best President ever and doing the best job ever. I'm not saying those things are true, but I'm pretty sure Trump thinks they are true.

The whole Russia Hoax has been central to Trump for years now. So the fact it comes up in force again now isn't any kind of surprise...I tend to think if the coronavirus never existed we would still be getting these declassification and pushback from the WH.

No doubt Trump thinks he's doing a great job. His TV & Twitter ego barely fits in a room. This is his outward persona. He reminds me of a "strong" cartoon character.

Interesting question is when he's alone. You wonder what he really thinks to himself and about himself.

Trump is never wrong. He's been convinced by election advisers that those daily press briefings where Fauci outshone him was a bad idea so he stopped. He definitely thinks he's the best president ever - didn't he compare himself to Lincoln recently? He was spooked when his valet tested positive & doesn't like that someone let the virus loose in the WH, but it certainly wasn't his fault.

Support for distraction is his paranoia about the media. He's now called Fox fake news & Jared was considering purchasing a stake in the new OAN network in late April as an alternative. The stable genius believes the media is persecuting him so he feeds them plenty. He hates Obama so why not trash him? and not allow him to have the traditional portrait unveiling in the WH? Let the media toss that around for a cycle or two.

He's not that deep. He thinks about who's out to get him because he's so great if he thinks at all. He also wonders why he can't have all the power that his idols Putin, Xi, & Un have & why no one told him about those pesky other 2 branches of government. He's actually a reactor - he watches TV & responds. Self-examination is not something he's heard of.

Yes - recently he's gone after FOX. Think about that, folks. But he still has & always will have Laura I & Sean H as his "cabinet advisors".

When I saw the other day that he would deny the portrait unveiling of Obama, I thought how f'ing petty. He hates and is so jealous of Obama that he resorts to middle school antics. Not a problem - Trump will be gone in November, and Biden can be there to assist in the unveiling.

Another point - All the living presidents seem to get along. They have worked together in the past on initiatives. One can only imagine after Trump loses in November, he''ll want nothing to do with any of his predecessors, as he's gone after all of them- Dems & Repubs. I doubt any of them can stand him either. Good riddance.

I don't share your certainty that he'll lose - part because November seems a very long time away.

You make a good point about past presidents. He said when asked about consulting others he wouldn't bother; he wouldn't learn anything. OK. He's a stable genius & they're mere mortals. What was worse was his behavior at GHWBush's funeral. He was at W's father's funeral & acted reluctant to shake his hand. He sat there looking bored & impatient & bolted the second he could. I think Melania must have had some sort of grip on him to keep him seated as long as she did.

1) I do believe Trump will lose. Thought he'd lose since the 2018 midterms. So much has happened since then, and I think there is enough disgust in him to mobilize voters to offset cult votes and 2) I believe there is something in karma for who he is or isn't as a humanitarian that this country won't be let down AGAIN.
