haha for sure - you know the sight of African Americans outside a state capitol armed to the teeth in combat gear would cause quite a stir.

You'd probably hear the word, "repeal" coming from the mouths of a lot of "conservative Christians".

Dave Chappelle had a joke about that on his last special. Talking about the craziness of school shootings he said "it's time for black people to save America.....again. Every able bodied African American has to go out and buy a firearm."

That's probably a poor paraphrasing, maybe I'll have to watch it again today.

You mean like this

The Mulford Act was a 1967 California bill that repealed a law allowing public carrying of loaded firearms. Named after Republican assemblyman Don Mulford, and signed into law by then governor of California, Ronald Reagan, the bill was crafted in response to members of the Black Panther Party who were conducting armed patrols of Oakland neighborhoods while they were conducting what would later be termed copwatching.[1] They garnered national attention after the Black Panthers marched bearing arms upon the California State Capitol to protest the bill.[2][3][4]

Assembly Bill 1591 was introduced by Don Mulford (R) from Oakland on April 5th, 1967, and subsequently co-sponsored by John T. Knox (D) from Richmond, Walter J. Karabian (D) from Monterey Park, Frank Murphy Jr. (R) from Santa Cruz, Alan Sieroty (D) from Los Angeles, and William M. Ketchum (R) from Bakersfield,[5]. AB-1591 was made an “urgency statute” under Article IV, §8(d) of the Constitution of California after “an organized band of men armed with loaded firearms [...] entered the Capitol” on May 2nd, 1967[6]; as such, it required a 2/3 majority in each house. It passed the Assembly (controlled by Democrats 42:38) at subsequent readings, passed the Senate (split 20:20) on July 26th by 29 votes to 7[7], and was signed by Governor Ronald Reagan on July 28th, 1967. The law banned the carrying of loaded weapons in public. [8]

Both Republicans and Democrats in California supported increased gun control. Governor Ronald Reagan, who was coincidentally present on the capitol lawn when the protesters arrived, later commented that he saw "no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying loaded weapons" and that guns were a "ridiculous way to solve problems that have to be solved among people of good will." In a later press conference, Reagan added that the Mulford Act "would work no hardship on the honest citizen."[9]

From Atlanta Black Star
https://atlantablackstar.com/2018/03/02/nra-gun-control-black-people-compli cated-history/

"The Black Panther Party for Self Defense, the pioneers of the modern-day gun rights movement and the original proponents of open carry, faced opposition from the NRA. When the Black nationalist group, which formed to protect their community from police violence, invaded the California capitol building in Sacramento in 1967, then-Governor Ronald Reagan signed the Mulford Act in response, prohibiting open carry of guns in public places."

I'm a bay area native and remember these times very well. As soon as the black panthers decided to be a "militia" the state stepped in with "gun restriction" legislation...and Yes the panthers dressed well...unlike the white trash that pick MLK day to have this rally, of course, it was just a kowinkydink they want to do it on this day

Low lives livin' the low life

I find it hard - impossible - to believe that the Proud Boys' RWDS have a clue who Pinochet was and couldn't find Chile on a map if their lives depended on it. [I also think the news report included underestimates the number of Chileans killed, detained, and tortured during his regime is under-reported by 1/2 - more like 80,000.]

Nice of Trump to weigh in by tweet that Virginia dems are "working hard to take away your 2nd amendment rights." Not incendiary at all. Frankly, the photos of armed white men im combat gear freely roaming the streets of downtown Richmond w/military style weapons - away from the lobby event at the Capitol - seems like a really bad idea.

Agree - The idea of armed white men in combat gear roaming the streets in downtown "any city USA" is not only a really bad idea but a time bomb waiting to go off. Combining too much macho testosterone with guns is not a good cocktail mix.

Another highlight was from last week or so when the protestors tried to claim that their second amendment rights were being violated by the city since they were banning firearms in the area. Someone had to sadly let them down by saying, "To protect your 2nd Amendment right, you can simply avoid the area.", LOL.

They were then told they could carry their firearms anywhere but on the Capitol grounds, which is state law.

Barrett .50 caliber, not the sniper version, but it is a bolt action.

That guy is so out of shape in the time it would take him to react, turn around, handle that cannon, you could have already cowtipped him and relieved him of his weapon. A gun is no substitute for the best Godgiven survival tool, the ability to move. All the firepower in the world won't prevent myocardial infarction.

The Fat Phuck Brigade...they run 30 yards then need 6mo of rehab. I wonder if any of them have contemplated the power of the US Military and what they would really be facing with their pop guns...Could you imagine the look on their face as soon as some fighter jet came in on them...or they turn the corner and there's a tank aimed at them

Well, the sniper version will make you a target at over a mile and a half. All he would have to do is see you, adjust the sights for windage and elevation, and squeeze the trigger.
Practice makes you good at targeting, but at over $3.65 per round for BMG ammo, 50 cal match is $7.69 per round, that makes practice an expensive affair.
Really, all he would have to do is fire off 5 rounds, get to his 4 wheeler and drive about a half mile and do it again, while everybody is still about a half to three quarters of a mile away.

Point taken. Again, in the scenario you describe, the ability to move, caution, awareness of surroundings will serve you better than hardware. You would do better to gauge the best sniper positions, stay out of sight, sneak up on the guy when he is distracted pounding his twinkies.
