Who was President when the Japanese were "rounded up" and placed in "Internment" camps during WWII?

Or by definition can they be referred to as "Concentration camps"?

The Japanese internment camps most certainly fit the definition of concentration camps, and referring to them by that term is accepted by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Roosevelt was the president who signed the Executive Order to incarcerate all US citizens of Japanese descent.

Hey BIGV, what is the implication? Is it because a Democrat president had a racist policy in the 1940s, people who vote for Democrats shouldn't complain about a Republican president being a racist in the 21st century?

I would ask "What crimes" U.S. Citizens of Japanese descent committed?

The internment of Japanese Americans was a racist policy that the people of this country should have condemned. That was a different time and different circumstances. We were at war with Japan. Are we at war with Mexico?

Thanks for the History lesson.

There is a legal port of entry, is the Law being broken when that Port of entry is evaded?

Break the Law and pay the price.

Are you saying that the Japanese entered the country illegally or are moving the goal posts again?

Most of the people being held came through legal ports of entry seeking asylum. But you know and ignore that.

Trump supporters point to policy AND laws as a cover, because they know theyíll be hated if they speak freely. Sounds like hell.

One thing is for sure, rough and chaotic as the current situation may be, the detainees can thank their lucky stars that the impulses of certain factions in the US are kept in check.

I would agree with that, there are rouges, outlaws and scoundrels on both sides of the fence.

That being said Brer, I would ask this... "Do you think the Chinese protesters wish they had a 2nd Amendment"?

I will answer that with an ancient Chinese folk tale:

Aeons ago, before the time of creation, all was the void. The positive and negative yin and yang forces of the unrealized universe were coiled as potential in two dragons. The Chinese word for dragon is "Long". As in Oolong tea, oo means black, long means dragon = Black Dragon Tea, also known as Gunpowder Tea, great stuff, try it sometime . . . so, where were we, ah so, our two dragons of darkness in the primordial void were named Long One and Long Two.

After no small passing of time things were getting pretty monotonous out there in the endless nothing, so the dragons got bored, and then irritated, then outright belligerent, and during one of their arguments Long One said, "I can't see your point," so Long Two replied, "Of course, in fact we can't see anything at all, we need some light in here, I am damn sick of asteroids hitting me in the dark, and every time I move seems I am cracking my skull on some damn planet." So Long One said, "Yeah yeah, always with the light the light this the light that if only the light, wah wah wah, I suppose you are blaming me for that same as everything else," to which Long Two answered, "You are the one always blaming and starting up conflict and never doing anything about anything, just whining and griping and arguing sitting in the dark like a damn fool." Whereupon they commenced to thrashing one another with their iron tails, and sparks flew, which they noticed, and kept battling in the hope of creating light.

So on it went for a thousand eternities. Never ending war, endless night, friction, sparks, brief flashes but no light. Finally they left off, exhausted.

Long One and Long Two were some tired and sad dragons by this time. Too weak and forlorn to fight, they tried to come up with another plan to bring light into the void. They fell to arguing and blaming again, same as before, and eventually started thrashing and battling, exactly the same as before. Sparks flying but no fire catching, yet another failure to create light. Two times in a row, same pointless quarrel, same mistakes, same futile conflict, same failures.

Moral of story, Grasshopper?

Two Longs don't make a light

This is an indictment on peopleís actions. Where did I criticize anyoneís beliefs and values?

In relation to our two political parties, we should criticize actions or policies, but not each groupís values. Neither is inherently wrong or immoral. Itís the individualís choices and actions that should be open to criticism.

Choices and actions are the result of beliefs and values. When you criticize actions you are criticizing beliefs and values.

Honestly not trolling or trying to start sh!t, but I say criticize away!

Thatís not how I see it in regard to our two political parties. For example, Iím pro-choice for several reasons, but I donít think itís right to criticize someone for the sole reason that they are pro-life. I do think itís acceptable to criticize what we do in response to those beliefs - in other words, how we act and how we speak about it. The back and forth between our parties during Bush and Obama was intense, but it wasnít anything we hadnít seen before. Most importantly, both leaders were civil and had honor. The only thing new and different is Trump. Every presidential candidate before him rose to the same level of professionalism that is expected by all American workers. It was a conscious choice by Trump to take the low road, and it was a collective conscious choice among conservatives to choose the low road.

I donít see anything wrong with their values - just their foolish way of trying to bring those values to life.

The guy who cheers when the President of the United States launches daily personal attacks on Americans, the guy who needs to scapegoat liberals everyday with insults, is now asking that nobody calls him any names. LOL, wow! Just when I thought he couldnít look any worse.

BIGV, I could care less if I get banned. Iím going to continue show you be same level of respect that you show for people. If I get banned, Iíll create a new account and be back to call you out some more. And I would t worry about the so-called ďpersonal attacksĒ, because thereís nothing you can do to stop it. All I have to do is change some wording around, and he admin wonít have a problem with it. For example, ďit is my opinion, that some Americans do not understand what bigotry is, nor do they understand why itís wrong. These people are cancers and morons.Ē Now go get your shine box.
