That's dead co. They play slow, at glacial speed, and it's the worst dead side project post Garcia's death, and a total cash grab.

I'm not a Mayer fanboy but apparently he does not trip anymore and just smokes pot. Jerry and Bobby flubbed stuff all the time.

Kind of neat (and surely embarrassing) to see quality players mess up and a huge crowd cheer them on so enthusiastically, and everyone smiles. Music is cool.

Somewhat like the Dead shows I've seen. Rocking and jamming pretty good at time but at times so loose and sloppy that I remember thinking if a club band at Rick's Place down the street from this coliseum played like that, they would be fired.

But the huge crowd was in Grateful Dead heaven, smoking pot, dancing and twerling and some of the ladies taking off their tops and showing their Hooters.

I'm so old now seeing that wouldn't have any more effect on me than watching them eat a bowl of oatmeal.

their audience is very forgiving, but I'm sure Bill the drummer said something to him like: " This is the big leagues, John boy, not a blues jam in someone's back yard! WTF!".

I saw these guys recently in Boulder. Tickets were expensive (I paid about 80 bucks) BUT they put on a great show. They sounded very tight, jazzy and interesting. Mayer, Burbridge and Chimenti have added a lot to this band.

For anybody who wants to bust Dead and Co's chops for playing slow, I challenge you to put on any version of AWTNM from the last couple years of the ABB and then play the original from EAP.

I never saw a sloppy Dead show. All were good. As far as the extracurricular activities...I don't see a problem with any of that. Life is for living.

GD, Telluride '87. Brokedown Palace encore.

When Jerry realizes they started the song in the wrong key...priceless.

I downloaded that 1986 ABB show in Nashville. The year they played just two shows with rotating bass players. Butch use to say in the old days he could listen to a soundboard tape and tell what kind of drugs they were on that night.

Well this one must be cocaine. Jessica, Blue Sky, Ramblin' Man, Liz Reed all rolling 90 miles an hour. Petal to the metal. On Dickey's new release those songs are rolling at about 45 miles an hour. There is a sign post up ahead!! Says REDUCE SPEED.

Last years of Great Southern were slower and slower. Same with some of the ABB shows. It couldn't have been Warren, Derek and Otiel. Had to have been Gregg and Butch. Butch did say the last several years he would be in pain and sore the next day. Got to slow it down so the old men won't run out of gas mid stream.

The Greatful Dead shows I saw years go rocked fine except there would be some sluggish and sloppy places here and there. Almost as if they were making up the set list as they went along and it took a bit for everyone to figure out where Jerry or Bob were going and what song they were lining up. Maybe that is what they were doing. Putting some of the set list together on the fly.

One of the beauties of live music; you may not know what to expect.
Bob still flubs lyrics and so did Jerry.
No doubt a lot of the Deads music is slow/glacial as someone said, but I enjoy John Mayers contribution to the Dead legacy

I remember Gregg messing up Midnight Rider in 2005 and the audience rolled with it. One of the best things about seeing a band live! To many more!

In July, 2005 they played Firing Line in Lansing, MI. Gregg butchered Firing Line so bad! As I understand it, he didn't like playing the song for that very reason. Too bad, I always liked the song.

Susan flubbed the lyrics to High With a Little Help from My Friends at the Fox the other night. Charlie from Blackberry Smoke jumped into finish the verse and the crowd roared.

Little off topic but I love that entire album. I really only knew of “Ramblin Man” and stuff they played on classic rock radio. This cd was a wow moment for me.
