CP3 & Harden were supposed to be all the stuff in Hou, didn't really change their fortunes tho -- about the same as when Harden/Wstbrk were in OKC w/KD, a good-not-great squad

OKC made the finals in 2012. That was a great lineup, and had they kept KD, Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka, together they might have dominated the West, or at least gone toe-to-toe with GSW. I think the problem in Houston is Harden. Great player, but maybe not to play with. Westbrook is a huge upgrade on CP3 at this point.

Ha, ok, sure.

With the Warriors, the Clippers and the Lakers, the Pacific Division of the Western Conference will now be the toughest and most competitive in the league. FYI the other two teams are Phoenix and Sacramento. Sac definitely on the rise also.

And if you think you can just ignore the Warriors now that Durant is gone I would think twice. They still have two Hall Of Famers in their lineup in Curry and Green and a third, Thompson, will likely be back mid-season. I like the moves they have been making especially D'Angelo Russell. They may not be dominant like the last five years, but they certainly will be a very tough win. They may surprise a lot of people.

Yep they'll be Very interesting chemistry tests, the new backcourts of Curry & Russell for GSW, & Westbrk/Harden for Houston -- D'Angelo was always The Man in Brklyn, now he has to adapt to a different role -- then what when Klay returns etc

Kawhi consented to select LAC only when John Ringo signed -- LAC will about the same -- winning the title in Tor meant zilch to Kawhi, he just wanted to be in LA -- DeAndre Jordan now w/Brklyn

LAL will be good, they're stacked w/guards like Rajon, former Celtic Avery Bradley, Danny Green -- also Caruso, their draft pick, & forgotten man/former Pacer star Lance Stephenson -- again, I pick them West finalist, on paper they're better than last year

Rajon & AB keyed Celts to a 27-3 start many years ago -- that was an Immense backcourt tandem
Rajon, AD & Cousins were really starting to hit it for NO b4 DeM's achilles injury
w/LeBron in the mix, LAL has a chance to be great this season

awaiting on the green, a work in progress -- would rather have seen Terry stay than Kemba W coming by trade -- Danny has a way of making good things happen tho -- let's go Celts

Westbrook and Harden have already played with each other, back when Harden was their fresh young legs off the bench in OKC. If they can sort out "alpha" status, then Houston looks like a much bigger threat in the West. Harden is lights out, but Westbrook does it all..

Itís Harden (the alpha male) - 59 points - Westbrook a triple double - a double double for Clint Capela - final score, 159-158
Yep the only Ďchemistryí here would be his teammates leaving a wide berth for Harden - itís his team - what potential chemistry it is tho - on full display tonite
Best of all, Isaiah Thomas w/a double double off the bench for Wash - yep the WS wasnít the only Houstn-Wash game tonite

Aron Baynes 24/13 as Suns trounce GSW - long year ahead for GSW, watta run theyíve had tho

Weíre a work in progress (Celts), too tough a call - Phila is again solid

Final edit/prediction, barring injuries to key personnel, Jazz, the west team Iíve always followed will be in conf final, likely league final - thought LAL, but no DeM Cousins, Rajon//Kuzma already injured etc - 55-60 wins for Jazz
Letís go Celts

Seven games into the season, & Russell Westbrook wasnít on the court last night for what they said was a rest day
Sure thing
Heís 2nd banana to Harden - will be fun to watch the chemistry as they attempt to mesh - or, might Westbrook go the way of Melo last year

Realize few hoop fans here, & after looking at the traveling being allowed this year, even less - take a look at the vid on espn - itís ridiculous

A new city w/a new hero as Paschal & the San Francisco Warriors won last night - cool the fact that they have ďSan FranciscoĒ on their jerseys now, just as when Wilt played for them

But they still are officially the Golden State Warriors, apparently
Letís go Celts

We somehow got it done tonite despite a monumental laying of the egg by Jayson (1-18) - good thing thatís out of his system, weíll need him to be in peak form w/Gordon now out 6 weeks - Marcus, 2 from downtown late to seal it - he might just stay in the starting lineup - letís go Celts

Heís come all the way back after a 2-3 year battle, & IT should get a huge greeting tonite - no one ever played better than Isaiah in 2017, & he left it all, hip & heart, on the parquet floor - now heís starting for Wash, congrats little buddy, Cís fans owe you a standing O every time youíre in town - the shortest guy to ever record a triple double - broke Havlicekís record for consecutive 20 point games......

Another great ex-Celtics guard, Rajon, was effective off the bench in his debut last night for LA - he & Dwight Howard could make a highly effective veteran bench tandem - letís go Celts

That was the real Jayson last night, & good to see IT warmly greeted (15/7) - no D tho, not surprising w/out Daniel Theis & Robt Wms III

I donít get modern sports - good 1st game for Rondo - who is then benched for a ďrest dayĒ??? B/c itís the 2nd of a back to back??

ďRest daysĒ are all the rage now - itís bull - if youíre injured or dinged up, yes absolutely - AD for instance was legit, heís dinged up - but when youíre healthy??

Believe thatís why Theis was held out too (they listed ankle, also back for Robert)

In fairness, mayb more for forwards, those are very large athletes banging bodies in the low post - but still, Not When Youíre Healthy & Able To Play - what good does it do to be on the bench, injuries can happen anytime -

itís too much like pitch counts, just hold em back, get em off the field/court b4 they work up a sweat & possibly get hurt - itís horse **** IMHO

Deal w/the injuries When They Happen, not b/c you think they Might happen!!

But yes, Ďload managementí - thatís the new term
Still think healthy players sittin out is for the birds
Letís go Celts, a promising start, awesome so far

W/Kawhi sitting out, Paul George (John Ringo) goes 33 pts 9 reb in his season debut, w/6th man Lou Williams 31 & 9 assists - we see em Wed, hopefully w/Kawhi playing
Even w/Kawhi restricted to 3/4s or so of the schedule, theyíll be good this year, as will LAL - LeBron remains top dog, one-of/if-not....

Marcus smartís floater rolled off the rim as time expired, ending our 10 game win streak 100-99 to Sac

But after battling injuries for so long, good to see IT back, & the same for Markell Fultz - heís overcome all his setbacks, is now starting & had 19 points while Isaiah, whoís also starting, had 13 in their Orlando-Wash game today - they each missed 2 years

Same Melo, heís back after a year out of the league, this time w/Portland, how will it go - hopefully better than Houston, thatís where they are tomorrow

The four guards each had 30 minutes last nite, incl Brad Wanamaker, & good to see him moving up the rotation - heís a good player in the Shane Larkin/Raul Neto mold - heíll be key w//Marcus (ankle) out possibly for last two games of this road trip

But good to see players like Brad & Daniel Theis, veterans whoíve paid their dues, a key part of this fast start - letís go Celts

Heís back! Game high 25 for Melo & could he & Damian Lillard become a force for Blaziz

Kemba should be back this week - Gordonís hand is healing up on schedule & he should be back by the end of the year

We wonít have Patrice on this back to back in Canada, incl tmrw nite at Habs
ĎTreece is essentially in a permanent day to day situation, by all appearances - Bís will struggle if heís out any length of time - he was best player on the ice the other night (4 assists)

Weíre going so good right now that what about when Gordon gets back
Look at Nets, theyíve lit it up since Kyrie (shoulder) exited
Must mention Bís too, really thought itíd be a struggle w/no Patrice - weíve more than held our own

Our rotation right now rocks - Semi 29 solid minutes tonite, Daniel short solid minutes as starter, Marcus all D leaving scoring to others, Grant & Robert Wms. playing really well off the bench, same Wanamaker, Enes Kanter giving critical low-post minutes, obviously Jay & Ja....

...Brad Stevens is coaching this team great this year, Much better than last year

.....the disparity of the outcome of that Mil-LA game tonite......Bucks, watta team
Sixiz in Thurs, letís go Celts

Gordon and Patrice are both back
Not a minute too soon either - Phila Sixers are in Thurs,
Bís must beat Wash tmrw nite to keep pace, then itís off to Fla for 2 div games we gotta have - weíre flat right now (L3)

Lakiz continue to roll, LeBron/AD a crushing tandem - Harden/Westbrook proving out in Houston - letís go Celts

These poor NBA players. Stuff like this just continues to distance me from the pro sport as much as I enjoy basketball. I guess that's why I follow college more.

Nice win for the Pacers against the Celts. The Holiday brothers produce well, and Sabonis 2 assists shy of a triple double. He is having a great year so far.

To me that's just smart player management by Doc Rivers.

Yeah, I know, fans pay to see stars like Kawhi in the lineup. Well, they need to shorten the season then but due to the huge income loss that would generate, it's not going to happen anytime soon.

They ask way WAY too much of these guys. I would much prefer a 70 game NBA season. Then the playoffs start, and a player like Kawhi could easily be asked to play another 25 or so games, and games at an intensity level far exceeding the regular season. He had to with San Antonio, he had to with Toronto, and he'll have to every year he's with the Clippers because a guy who plays at his level is not going to be missing the playoffs anytime soon.

Why do you think Klay Thompson got hurt? Easy. Made it to the Finals five consecutive years, THAT's why. It's too much to ask and I don't care how much of an elite NBA body one has. Kevin Durant is the next one I would point to. Wanna see more playing time for the stars? SHORTEN THE REGULAR SEASON.

Am generally opposed to the idea, if youíre feeling healthy & up to snuff you should be out there - it smacks too much of pitchers - restricted IPs only - donít know how much input Doc Rivers has, heís handed a schedule of Kawhiís off days ahead of time - 4 instance Kawhi contractually doesnít play the 2nd of back to backs

Spurs played their 4th straight OT game last night, & in Mexico - I understand that players get beat & need rest -

Examples both ways of course, but 4 Instance - RWstbrk takes a rest day (team report said) - & in Hou, they lose to lowly Det - who didnt have Andre Drummond (legit injury)

Klayís unfortunate injury is another example - however, many players have gone deep into multiple playoffs without injury - really hope it wonít go the way of pitch counts, ie/say, a mandatory 25 min per game cap

Letís go Celts

Maybe so but name me a player not a member of The Warriors who has gone to the Finals five consecutive years. CAN YOU DO IT?

I figured a Celtics fan would bring up the 60's. Since the subject here is wear and tear on players, that doesn't EVEN measure up because they played far fewer games then, both regular season and playoffs.

Michael Jordan's Bulls of the 90's were certainly one of the greatest teams of all-time but they never went to the Finals five consecutive years like the Warriors recently did. They WOULD have, if Jordan had not retired for two years in 1993 after the murder of his Father.

It was an 80 game schedule before going to its current 82 game format in the mid 1960s sometime - example, 1962-63 team went 60-20 (looked it up), then 48-34 in 68-69 (know that by heart)
But yes the league was smaller then, so fewer playoff games etc & so forth
SF fans hope to see what rival Oakland fans saw when their players return, albeit in restricted minutes, at least for Klay, if his injury was cumulative wear & tear
