A few. Have had a buddy play some games that I really liked, Alabama last week for one. Have been on Iowa State in a couple of spots. Not nearly as active as past years.
I do follow the Stanford Steve & The Bear podcast on ESPN Radio. SS has been unbelievably hot this year, something like 33-11 ATS. ____________________ Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. |

quote: quote: I think Mississippi State can give Bama a game. 25 points? Again, seems like too much.
I was trying to figure this one out as well. MSU O has been mega disappointment this year and Fitzgerald hasn't been able to do anything on O...until aTm and LaTech. Those Ds provide the kind of relief MSU needed, Bama will not. Note this is the same team that 201 and 202 yards vs UK and UF and couldn't do much vs LSU just 3 games ago.
So how can they move it or score on Bama when we just saw LSU not do anything?
MSU does seem to have some confidence on that side of the ball right now they lacked before. Can they carry that over and execute better than LSU?
I will give their O a better chance than LSU. Fitz can atleast make some plays running which brings something to the table Borrow didn't last week.
Let's assume that MSU D can duplicate something similar to what LSU D did. Saying maybe they can hold Bama to 31-37 pts? Maybe, perhaps?
If that is the case MSU would need just 7-13 pts to cover.
Might be overly optimistic. MSU D is good. Alabama fans will tell you that. Not sure anyone is going to hold them to less than LSU did last week though. MSU would have to control TOP like 2:1 for that to happen.
Ceiling for MSU O is probably 17 and I imagine would be under the absolute optimum best case scenarios.
Normally, this might be a letdown possibility for the Tide. I don't think so though.
MSU may be stout on defense but I think they're going to be on the field a lot. I just don't see how MSU generates any offense. Fitzgerald is just a horrible passer. And his time and time again QB draws etc. just won't work against a superlative defense. The only way Fitzgerald could successfully pass a football is if he somehow managed to swallow it first.
MSU could very well be the Tide's second shutout in a row and I don't see how they could possibly score more than 10. I think the Tide covers this one easily. ____________________ Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. |

Fitz is going to have to put the entire state of Mississippi on his back just to keep it close.
Remember last year Alabama LBs were decimated by injury for the MSU game. I'm not talking their 2nd string can start anywhere, I think they were down like 5 of their top 6. It really showed in that game last year.
Much respect for Alabama, they deserve all the praise. I'm hoping for a competitive game. I think it is what we all want. Even most Alabama fans would tell you I think they would like to see how this team responds to some adversity because they haven't had any yet. Best to find out now than in perhaps the SEC Title or playoff game. |

As do I, but as I said, a big goose egg for MSU. Not an easy cover but a cover nonetheless.
Plus, the Huskers cover giving up 35. ____________________ Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. |

I'm looking forward to the next Nebraska win over Michigan State this week....or is this Husker D so bad that even MSU will be able to score on them?
Mississippi State had a TD taken off the board twice. The delay of game was on them. The phantom block in the back as the receiver crossed the goal line, well that was some home cooking. |

I hate rematches so instead of wanting Michigan to beat Ohio St in 2 weeks I guess I will have to want Ohio State to win now. |

Bobby Petrino fired! Jeff Brohm's phone is going to be ringing. Hate it for Purdue, would've loved him to stay there.
Clay Helton will be fired soon too. |

I dunno. Michigan State is not as bad as Nebraska. Be interesting to see the spread. I don't think it matters that the game is in Lincoln. ____________________ Gimme a fifth of anything and a glazed doughnut to go. |

30 degree temperature drop from Friday to game day in Lincoln, decent chance of snow, windy. Lovely football weather. Saw at one point at least, the game had moved to Pick 'Em. ____________________ Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. |

Last week, Stanford Steve was 3-2 with a one yard line bad beat on one game, The Bear was 3-1. You can make money going 6-3. ____________________ Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. |

Ugly game in tough conditions. Kind of refreshing though to see a game that doesn't end up 55-45. ____________________ Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. |
