Warren Haynes Band, Gregg Allman and Peter Frampton did a show for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Center at the Park Avenue Armory last night. I wish I could've been there.

If you had $400, you could have bought a ticket. There are pictures here:

There is still an auction for a one hour private guitar lesson from Warren, currently at $3500:

Actually it showed a range of prices from $400 to $50,000. I am not sure what the $50,000 included.

Sounds like it was a pretty awesome show. Wonder if there's boot out there of it. Nice setlist.

When you can afford to make a $50,000 contribution to cancer research, I can assure you you do not care about what's included.

I wish I knew what that feeling was like...

Wonderful event for a great cause, but I find it very sad when some of the best musicians in the world get together, put on a killer show, and, well, Peter pretty much sums it up in his FB post-

"I had a lot of fun jamming with Warren Haynes in NYC the other night. It was a benefit for Cancer which is the huge reason I did the show. When Warren calls and I'm there. He is a dear friend and I bow down to him as a player.
Unfortunately, even though it was a wonderful cause and a great band, the donors/audience had little or no interest in the music being performed. There were a few respectful music lovers standing at the front but most didn't care who was playing. The great Greg Allman played a set with Warren after myself and had that same audience. I removed the videos from this page because I knew what the show would be like and I was right! This show was not open to the public."

Wish I could have been there. I certainly would have been interested.

That sounds like the Goldman-Sachs sponsored show that opened the Beacon run a few years ago. But at least at that show, half of them left after the first set. You can hear the very loud chatter in some of the videos that were posted for this show.
