And unless I missed it, Eat a Peach doesn't make the cut

A lot of great albums are listed though....

I happen to be a Dylan FREAK so I'm way happy Bob actually had 3 in the top 16 including #4 and #9.
...pretty darn good I think! "Highway 61 Revisited", "Blonde On Blonde" and "Blood On The Tracks" are about as good as it gets IMO. Dylans lyrics really are the S-h-i-t...

Yea, and 3 Beatles in the top 10!! I wouldve put RubberSoul or Revolver as #1 though, not SP...

It's got some interesting picks. They showed more of a taste for the obscure than on the guitar list (I saw two Tom Waits albums, for example). I'm not sure it was necessary to include THREE Eminem albums, though. I didn't see Eat a Peach either. And I guess everybody does this, but the highest-ranked Bob Marley album was Legend. Come on. It's a great compilation, but it's a compilation. He's not a guy like Howlin' Wolf who released a lot of stuff a long time ago and did singles instead of albums. I saw just use Exodus (#169). Time named it Album of the Century a couple of years back, take the hint.

a few of my favorite albums made the cut!

#58.
Trout Mask Replica
Captain Beefheart And His Magic Band

#69.
Superfly
Curtis Mayfield

#331.
Tonight's the Night
Neil Young

#347.
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Pink Floyd

It's weird that they would put Trout Mask Replica but I didn't see any Zappa on their list.

Newt, I saw We're Only in It for the Money on there. I think it was in the 300s, maybe 367. Maybe Freak Out! is on there too.

Hey buddies,

Lets face it, after lets say the top 50 or so this list is really a crap-shoot. In other words, if an album is listed as #236, It could just of easily been #194 or #287 you know what I'm saying? A couple that really strikes me as being WAY OFF base is The Clash at #9, I mean who is kidding who on this one? The "Layla" album by comparison was listed at #115! I mean thats really a little ridiculous don't you think? I know this is all in fun and shouldn't be taken so seriously - like any other list it certainly has the "Who Cares" quotient to it -, but... As more foolishness, it also has The Ramones listed higher than "Dark Side Of The Moon" John Coltranes "A Love Supreme", "The Band" and ABB "Fillmore East"....Crazy Chit man!

I dig what you're screaming man. Totally. Some just didn't make sense to me either. But that's what lists like this do, though.

We should make up our own list.

Never, in my life, will I understand why Nirvana is always near the top.

No.17 on this list...right between 'Blood on the Tracks' and 'Born to Run.'

Top 50 for the home team

Their lists always are obvious best sellers or purposely osbcure ones to give the impression of objective creative input. I like the folks here list (important works) and with the exception of missing Frank Z, Ray & Aretha we did a great job. That Mc 5" kicking out the jams" (speaking of obscure) Iím not sure if it should be on a best list, but our important works list indeed, It inspired a lot of local bands to not give up.

Jeez, Sandman! That's a pretty close comparison to my score!

8 out of 10 (no Marvin or Clash)
22 out of 50
63 out of 250
86 out of 500 (I had none of the last 50 )

106 of 500. I got too many CDs!
Glad to see Dylan popping in there quite a few times and Jackson Browne too.

Not too bad this list (compared to the guitar player one, that is!).

I agree Chad, EAP beats the hell out of most of them on that list. I guess you gotta make your own list.
