David Burtchfield from The Electric Mudd was killed in a car accident in Mississippi this past Saturday. He was the lead singer and guitar player for The Electric Mudd. Even though I only got once chance to see them live they were my best surprise in 2009. I was looking forward to watching them play more. To all the Allman Brother family who may have not known about The Electric Mudd or even those that had go listen to some of their live music at www.electricmudd.com. One great, great young guitar player! May David's music live on forever! RIP

A terribly high price to pay for texting while driving.

It was a sad night.
Some of my band members have played with David or The Electric Mudd over the years in the small town bars and juke joints that are in this state.
I got a text around 7 pm Saturday night from my good friend Rebecca informing me that David had died and it is never a good feeling when someone so young is taken without warning. Mathius and Rebecca were waiting on them to arrive in Vicksburg Saturday night when they found out.
We had band practice that night, gearing up for NYE show and we played a ton of blues in his honor.

I never got the chance to play with David but my bandmate Brian Lindsey did on countless occasions and had only high praises about him and his band.

services were this morning
RIP David.

He was so good at playing that guitar. I have been listening to him all day. I true Mississippi Blues Man. This sucks. I was looking forward to their show with The Last Straw in Tennessee next year.
