Did Duane's daughter Galadrielle own the guitar or The Big House where it was on display at one time?
Either way sad that it won't be available for fans to see anymore.

Scott Lemar owned the Goldtop that was on display at The Big House. Word is that the new owner will let it spend some time at The Big House so all is not lost....

Yes that is correct. LaMar must be a millionaire now if he were not already one.

I think he was the third person to own the guitar after Duane traded it to the lead guitar player for the band Stone Baloon in September, 1970 for his 1959 red sunburst Les Paul. Of course Duane liked the pickups on his Goldtop better and was able to swap them over to the sunburst.

LaMar wanted the guitar played and would loan it out from the Big House museum for special concerts and recording sessions.

When Duane was killed, he had switched his number one a third time to a tobacco burst Les Paul. Just before the ABB formed his number one was a Stratocaster. Duane had several number one's during the Allman Joys and The Hourglass including a Tele with a Strat neck which was one of his all time favorites and mentioned getting a parts guitar like that again in early 1971. . And that trend continued during the 2 and 1/2 years he was in the ABB as he changed number ones 3 times.

Reading the article was a bit much. Sorry but the world is off its rocker.
