Hello? Hello? Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home?

Glad to see the Lounge still kickin', even if it is on continual life support.
Happy to report I made it to 2020, hoping all my friends that frequent here made it as well.

Yes, 2019, not a great year for the Richdel clan. We all need a better year from 2020.
My love and good vibes to you all. If my mind can remember, I will stop by later.

BTW - It was my first time seeing Warren Haynes play The Last Waltz this past November in Philly.
It was really a great night. Music that I had listened to for many, many years, and had a great influence on my musical tastes, played again in its' near entirety. And it was so good I just smiled the whole 3 hours. I hope others might have gotten a chance to attend and enjoy.

Evenin' All

Lets see today I went and finally cleared my inner ear crystals, not gonna be any more dizzy than normal, hopefully.

End of February brings a Endoscopic Plantar thingy surgery...

Snip and release some of the tendons rubbing on my heel bone and making each left foot step an OUCH.

Hope everyone else is doing better than me of late

Greetings Lounge!

I saw security had the day off so I snuck in for a quick hello.

Hope everyone is doing fine.

Hey Rich! Very nice to hear from you. Are you OK? I, too, had a very bad 2019. Worst year of my life, in fact. 2020 has already started out better. Wishing you and your family good vibes.

Hey Peg!

Last night we watched the Paul Butterfield docu.

Lots of Mike video in it but I'm sure you've seen it already.

Hey Ron! Yes, I've seen Horn from the Heart. Great stuff and I learned more about Paul than I knew before. Hope you enjoyed it. Paul was an American treasure and especially when Michael played with him.

Hey Peg, good to hear from you. It seems there are a few stragglers left from years gone by.

I am doing well, Family is doing well. Kids are all grown and out of school, and in the case of my son, out of the house. He is living in Manhattan working for a startup, living the life. It's ashame there are no more Beacon shows, as I would now have a place to crash. That's always the way it works out I guess.

I am retired now from my full time position/career, working part time at a local world renown Garden as a Guest Engagement staffer. It is still work, but the surroundings change each day I am there and it is good for the soul. If you are ever up this way, PA/DE/NJ/MD, let me know and I will grab you some day passes. It's an amazing place, especially during the summer when they have fountain shows that are synchronized to music for 30 minutes.

Sorry to hear you also had a notso great 2019. I have been hoping for a better year, so maybe you can benefit from it as well. I will be heading down to FL in about 3-4 weeks, our first official trip to FL as "snowbirds". Going to watch some spring baseball for a week or so, then down to the Keys for the remainder of our time.

A couple weeks back, I was able to cross an item off my bucket list. Going to see Derek and Susan at Red Rocks this summer for back to back shows. Really looking forward to that.

I see since I was last here, Coot, Ed, and Ron stopped by. Whats up fella's? Hope all is well with you and your families. Off to do the wash before the Flyers get started. Take Care!

I figured after Broduer retired, you would go back to the hometown team, Sabres.

Yes they did spank us, and then we turned around and spanked the Caps in Washington 7-2.

They are young (the Flyers), and haven't learned how to play at a consistent level night in and out yet. But they are coming on quickly and will be a problem for someone in the playoffs this coming year.

Nice to hear from you Ron. Hope all is well.

I miss Marty but Blackwood is looking good as our number one.

Can't stop being a Devils fan after 28 years.

I do watch all the Sabre games I can if the Devils aren't playing.

Things are good here.

Abusive wife moved out eight years ago.

I reconnected with a high school girlfriend and she's been living here going on six years now.

I don't spend hardly any time on this site now, most everyone is on facebook so we can chat in real time.

I guess I am a dinosaur as the only living person that does not have a FB account.

Sorry to hear about wife moving out, but happy to hear you found a lost connection.

6 years though? Man 'o man, I ain't been by for quite a bit of time. Seems like only yesterday. Time sure does fly by.

Let me know if you are ever going to be passing through or down this way and I will grab you tickets for Longwood gardens (where I am working now that I retired). Thursday night, Friday Night, and Saturday Night fountain shows at 915pm are 30 minutes long and are synchronized to a fine outdoor audio system. You can go online to Longwoodgardens.org and see what the playlist is for any given night before coming. I highly recommend the British Invasion, Beatles, Motown. Surpise of the season for me last year was how much I enjoyed Swan Lake. Didn't think classical music would move me so much. The gardens are also spectacular, a lot to see!

Take care.

We had a few other changes as well.

Mom decided to retire so we closed the florist shop three years ago.

Dad refuses to stop working so he and my daughter and I have an organic produce business growing on the greenhouse property and at my house.

I took over the mulch business and still have my photo gig as well as mowing a couple lawns next to the greenhouse.

We work our asses off from April to October then lay low during the winter.

I've applied to several local stores but noone wants to hire a 60 year old hippie for seasonal employment.

Funny thing is the last place I applied (liquor store) for a part time job they are still looking to hire two months later.

Their loss.

I went in last week, saw the sign on the counter and told the owner I could have been employee of the month TWICE by now and they wouldn't still have an opening.

She was speechless.

Peg doesn't do facebook either so you aren't the only Lounger not on there.

I love it, that's how Jeanne and I got back together after not seeing each other in 40 years.

Wow, I am surprised you went BACK INTO the Liquor store. If it were me, I wouldn't have given them my business. Good to know you still have some family business going. Glad to know that FB works for some, I guess I am just old-fashion, I enjoy forum style of communications and interface.

How are the kids, or should I say your adult children? Hope they are doing well.

Home from an afternoon at Longwood. I don't think we even had 100 people today. But the orchid display and show is out of this world. Orchids are some of the most amazing plants the good Lord put on this earth.

As I said, oldest daughter Amy is working with my father & I.

She's 90% disabled thanks to her time in the Army, mostly TBI related but she'll need both knees replaced at some point and shoulder surgery.

She's putting that off as long as possible.

Susan is managing a PT office in Buffalo.

Ken works for a company in Beaumont, TX selling rare investor quality coins and bullion, he just did a trade show in Vegas two weeks ago.

My youngest son Derek turned 28 last week.

He lives with his mother and is an EMT working towards a nursing degree and eventual move to WA.

He comes out regularly to target shoot on the backyard rifle/pistol range.

If you go back a couple pages here you'll see my now 14 year old grandson and our four generation deer hunt on Thanksgiving.

My dad turned 83 in December, shot his 29th deer with a bow on the opening day of crossbow season.

Just wandered back a couple of pages to see the family tree in a photograph.
That picture must make you very proud and thankful.
And your still hunting Bambi. I guess some things should never change.

I thought I would wander into a Sunday sing-along. But I am only hearing my own voice.
Kind of like singing in the shower...

Good Ol Sunday Evening

Nice to see some good old Lounge type conversation going on I didn't do "Facebook" either Rich, until this site slowed down, but I didn't want to lose touch with all the friends I had made over the years so I signed up it really isn't essential that you post what you had for breakfast every day - although many seem to think so - but I am glad that it enables me to keep in touch with y'all I just wish I lived closer so we could meet up for a beer now and then

Yes Colin, I do agree. I wished you lived closer so we could meet up for a beer.
In fact, I will go look right now at the local real estate listings and see what's available.

Great to hear from, need to run a few errands. Just checked in before I left and saw you had posted,
and wanted to reply rather then forget later on.

TTYL...
