Sorry to heard about this. Had the pleasure of hearing the Brecker Brothers live back in '70s. RIP Michael.

This is a real loss...only 57. On the John McLaughlin album "The Promise" there's a long jam on which Brecker just blows a hurricane. Great player.

The Brecker Bros. playing on the J. Geils album Monkey Island, from '77, is tremendous -- they also played on several Johnny Winters albums from back then.
Sad news indeed -- rest in peace Mr. Randy Brecker,

The paper also had an item today about the passing of Alice Coltrane, John Coltrane's widow -- just a sad day all around for music fans -- the 1974 album Alice Coltrane did with Carlos Santana, Illuminations, is a masterpiece of ambient music IMO -- might anyone be familiar with Translinear Light, the album she did in 2004?

Enjoyed his work with Steps Ahead and Mike Stern. One of the tracks on Mike's new album was dedicated to Brecker.
