Cain was actually the choice of my wife and myself, but the Dems decided to make sure Trump got the nomination by changing their party of choice in the primaries (Ya know, since he can't beat Hillary). When it got to the Ga primaries, pretty much everybody else was gone but Trump.

Anyone can find any article to support anything or any theory that backs up any point of view. If Herman was the best choice of Republicans voting in various state primaries, he would have been the nominee. He wasn't.

He attended a peaceful indoor Trump rally with mostly mask less people sitting on top of each other and sharing all that recycled air. But Covid is a hoax, and protestors are the problem.

Is this the ONLY place on Earth where he might possibly have come in contact with anyone who was either a carrier or was infected? Or, does the poor dead soul just get convicted here in this kangaroo court on a musical website forum? Maybe he went to a grocery store without a mask?..Maybe you've done the same? Considering his educational background, he was a very intelligent 74 year old gentleman. 74. Do the experts tell us that the elderly are particularly susceptible to this virus? You know, he also graduated with a Master's degree in computer science from Purdue University more than likely making him just a bit smarter than you. You might want to look into having a little more respect for the dead before you infer his cause of death was possibly due to attending an "Idiot rally".

Your parents must be so proud.

How about this one?

https://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/01/06/supporters-seek-to- persuade-democrats-to-ditch-and-switch-for-donald-trump/

It was called the "Ditch and Switch".

You can find all kinds of articles on line, and you can go back to Whipping Post threads from the 2016 election and see how many times it was referenced.

There is even a Quora thread about how to switch from Dem to GOP so that Trump will be the GOP candidate, and to quote the thread "since we know HE can't beat Hillary".

You can dismiss it as a "theory" all you want, but it happened. Fact, not theory.

He was at a large indoor rally without a mask at 74 years of age, sounds pretty stupid to me. He chose to listen to conspiracy theory's and trump, instead of doctors and experts, dumb-ass. dead, dumb-ass.

Sorry, but didn't you read the thread about how the economists using cell phone data say that the protests weren't responsible for the infection spikes? Oh, and there was covid testing involved so that makes 2 confirming studies.
So, if the protests didn't cause a spike in infections, why do you think the rally was responsible for Cain getting infected.
Both had people close together, some wearing masks, some not. A lot of talking and moving about.

I would love to see your data on how Cain got his infection.

We can only speculate regarding another person's health issues, especially when they themselves might only be able to speculate. But the Governor of Oklahoma, who was at the rally, also tested positive for COVID-19 shortly after the same rally.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/15/us/oklahoma-governor-coronavirus-stitt.h tml

Tulsa saw a surge in the number of cases after the rally.

https://time.com/5865890/oklahoma-covid-19-trump-tulsa-rally/

A Master's degree in Computer Science doesn't public health expert, it means they know computer science. And while we can't know for sure if he caught COVID-19 at the rally, brought it to the rally, or caught it somewhere afterwards, we can absolutely say that Cain thumbed his nose at precautions and put himself and others at risk.

And I wonder if they did contact tracing on Cain. That rally was just f'ing stupid and without regard for safety. It served the purpose of fulfilling the ego of the Science Is A Hoax President, Donald Trump.

How come he's no longer doing rallies? I mean, there are a % of supporters that would come out without masks and sit next to strangers to hear about white heritage and the suburbs in danger.

"Get a clue"!!!...There is a photograph of Dr. Fauci sitting in the stands, in the seats, right next to his friends... WITHOUT HIS MASK ON....(After he "tossed" out the opening day first pitch)...Is he a defiant idiot as well?

Uh, yeah, big gulf here dude, this is a big stretch.

So we can't make assumptions about where Cain contracted COVID, but Fauci (who is probably tested daily) was in one photo where he took off his mask for a second next to someone else, who may also have been tested often, in a mostly empty ballpark. Is that what you are saying? Ask yourself "what is most likely, here?"

True, and when you least expect it, comes what the Tulsa officials say what happened.

If you go to https://apnews.com/245057f1c2211c7ea2fc7b0e9d6e5686

Read this: "Tulsa health Department director Bruce Dart says the new cases have been linked to gatherings such as funerals, weddings, and people going to bars."

"Tulsa mayor G. T, Bynum says he's concerned that residents of the city are getting lax in their daily lives, not social distancing, not wearing face masks, or frequently washing hands. He says the uptick began long before the rally.

how about going to https://www.tulsa-health.org/COVId19

Look where the cases started rising (scrolling down to the "4 Day Rolling Average Of Cases" chart).
See how the number of cases went up at the end of May until the rally, then had a small drop (?), then a quick rise, then a HUGE drop (looks like a drop of 100) to the start of July. In July, a zig-zag till the last week of July where the line goes almost to the top of the chart.

According to the Tulsa Health Department, cases went down after the rally (check the 14 day chart to see how much).

So let's keep following the science.

porkchopbob - 8/5/2020 at 09:31 PM

Good info, Jerry. Like I've been saying, it's not just one thing. It's not just the indoor rally causing increases any more than it's protests. People in the general public were going about their lives and ignoring mask and social distancing mandates all over.

Dart didn't completely dismiss the event, but didn't single it out:

quote:
“The past two days we’ve had almost 500 cases, and we know we had several large events a little over two weeks ago, which is about right,” Dr. Dart said. “So I guess we just connect the dots.”

Dr. Dart spent much of the news conference pleading with Tulsans to wear face masks — which most attendees at Mr. Trump’s rally did not — and said the department would recommend requiring masks “if we continue to see an exponential rise in cases, which frankly we expect over the next few days.”

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/08/us/politics/coronavirus-tulsa-trump-rall y.html

A lot of people traveled to the rally, so tracing is difficult. There are 2 high profile cases from people who attended the rally without masks that we know of, Cain's ending tragically, but it's only speculation where they contracted it.

The point was that the rally was blatantly unsafe and pretty irresponsible for the supposed leader of the free world.

Sadly, this is the point no matter where he got it. Cain threw his health & his belief to Trump instead of medical experts. The man was in high risks groups - >60 and although his colon cancer was successfully treated more than a decade ago, he did have parts of organs removed during that chemo/radiation/surgical process. He wasn't in perfect health. He wasn't a man who could afford to be loyal to Trump's Covid19 theories but he was.

X2

I've periodically posted this, but it's worth seeing again. If this doesn't disqualify Russian Don from being President of the USA, then I don't what could convince those that will still vote for him. Trump is a traitor. He puts Russia over the US. Putin & Trump 2020 - a great ticket.
