Thread: Accentuate the positive: What do you like most about Trump?

BrerRabbit - 9/13/2019 at 12:56 AM

I am bored of hearing about all the negative aspects from the detractors, and from the supporters all we ever hear in the president's favor is "He isn't Hilary" or some such, always about how dumb or bad someone else is, as if that makes Trump look good.

How about the negators and haters just shutting up and politely allowing the folks who love Trump to actually give us some reasons why? I have yet to hear anything in support of Trump other than "Left Bad so Trump Good".

Here is a chance for Trump fans to pitch some of the excellence of Trump they have seen over the last few years, maybe sell us on rethinking our vote in 2020!

I wonder if him or Moscow Mitch realize the world will be a better place when they're gone...sad to say but true when this is our leadership...We're like a ship without a sail, rudder or keel

Chain - 9/15/2019 at 02:42 PM

I like nothing about Trump but love the fact that we have term limits for the presidency....If only we could put in place such limits for the Senate and House. Or at least for the leadership positions....But then again that would threaten the stranglehold the Dem. and Rep. parties have on our federal government. And we know how they both hate a threat to their control...

I like the fact that he is not a politician. He's not beholden to the same level of special interest groups as career politicians, of which there are many. I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing there were term limits on all politicians.

Everyone should want their children and grandchildren to grow up and take on his traits & character. What a wonderful world it would be.

I like that he proves that anyone can grow up to be president, regardless of your intelligence level or mental capacity.

StratDal - 9/17/2019 at 09:51 PM

Skydog32103 - 9/18/2019 at 12:01 AM

In an odd way, Iím glad heís empowering those who support him and identify with him. If someone identifies with this guy, then you have to feel bad for them. Trump is a tragic character who seems very unhappy. Rallying these people will make them eventually see how asinine the scapegoat game is, and theyíll regret it and become better people down the road.

I also like that he is addressing the serious problem we have of a media without morals, rules, or integrity.

And I like that heís making it almost impossible for Republicans to win anything with the younger generation.

This paragraph, if Iím reading it right, I agree with - IMO a great many people pay no attention to the media for the reasons you mention - thereís no credence or believing in what they report - not when dispassionate accurate reporting comes in 2nd to pulling in viewers/listeners

the majority of these people IMO are Trump backers, they just donít squawk as loud as the disaffected -
for all the bitching, Trump has more support IMO than people think - next Nov will tell the story

Trump is right that fake news outlets exist. Heís just only alleging it against outlets that criticize him, which he knows is crap, but his fans donít know any better.

Journalistic integrity is gone unfortunately in many of the popular outlets. The legitimate outlets arenít as ďexcitingĒ so they have less viewers/readers. Tabloid journalism makes more money, which caused the mess we have now. I am truly hopeful that our mainstream media will return to factual reporting without bias.

gina - 9/19/2019 at 11:36 PM

I like that he will listen and consider suggestions. He makes up his own mind even if he differs with his advisors, but he does consider their points of view. He tells you what he thinks, no politico speak. He takes on a task and gets things done. He is tenacious with the naysayers and does not let them break his spirit. Being a newbie to Washington that's not easy. He does compromise when necessary to move a project forward like The Wall. He still believes in America and wants to make it great.

Advisors - does he still have any? Haven't most been fired or couldn't stand working for him and quit? Look at the long list...record number of turnover and in acting positions. Respected General Mattis quit instead of degrading his integity working for an incompetent CEO. Trump hires and shortly fires Bolton who from the git go had a completely different view of foreign affairs than does Trump. Every day with Trump is chaos - either self inflicted or by design.

His comments at a prayer breakfast were disgusting and out of line for that setting. Maybe not so at a MAGA rally, but think about it - a prayer breakfast was used to go after opponents. Does that seem proper and presidential? Yep...but that's our Donald, and at least he's not Hillary, right?

For every jolted faith leader, IMO there were 2 average unobsessed Americans who didnít suffer that jolt - a political enemy was wishing him ill will, that and ďprayerĒ or religious faith donít mix - is what he was trying to say

OriginalGoober - 2/7/2020 at 11:32 PM

Tradition is out the window with this administration. He let it be known his feelings on Mitts pandering to the chattering class and Nancy's phony offers of prayer which would offend many of faith. Its like your arresting officer offering "prayers" as he stuffs you into the back seat. Its more of a taunt. He reacted, I guess it worked.

Who knows what he was trying to say. Not sure even he does as he speaks in stream of consciousness, rambling diatribes, and mostly his speeches are disjointed and incoherent.

One thing for sure is that those that defend him will do it until the end and normalize his every statement and action regardless of what societal norms are, whether he follows the Constitution or not, and whether he even has their interests at heart or at the forefront.

Remember he said he would only hire "the best people". Well. Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Richie Rich the stubby fingered, draft dodging, orange tub of lard asked him to do things that were illegal on numerous occasions but Tillerson refused. Trump calls former SecDef Mattis one of the "most overrated Generals ever". He was the first SecDef to ever resign over policy differences. Former NSA Bolton said he would like to testify in front of the Senate. Former chief of staff General Kelly said he believes Bolton and thought the Senate would be derelict if they didn't seek out Bolton's testimony. Former Sec. of the Navy Richard Spencer resigned over Trump sticking his nose into the Navy justice system and undermining that very system. Rear Admiral Collin Green is leaving for the same reasons. Admiral McCraven who lead the Bin Laden raid has said Trump is a threat to the republic and the sooner we change leaders the better. Robert Mueller(purple heart Vietnam) is not a fan. John McCain (2 purple hearts Vietnam) was not a fan. I could go on but how many men who bled for this country would it take for some Trumpkins to stop and think??

Maybe they'll make any clone of JFK who identifies as a gender-less person of color, or perhaps Reagan? He'll be a republicratic socialist that promises free hookers to CEO's & and gives the empty fly over States to the MIC to test technology once the population has vacated to the coastal mega-tropolis areas for re-education and to help all the other immigrants build the wall, the one to keep the rising sea water back. Fanal wind indeed, carrot breath from an old rabbit - however I must hasten to clarify that your post was the most well written, succinct, and chilling nutshell condemnation of rhe rogue president I have seen yet, anywhere. It points to deliberate sabotage, not mere bungling. A clear and present danger.

Your post was doubly disturbing as you are quite conservative, so it wasn't simply liberal agenda noise.

My reply was just a shot at those who call observations insults, to muzzle the obvious.

Shooting from the hip is all well and good when your entire career before having the nuclear codes at our discretion was building overpriced real estate like a golf course or a gaudy hotel or a casino or a condominium....When engaging in foreign policy or attempting to understand basic economics and trade policy or the rules of our republic, it's quite another.

Part of the reason many have commented about how ignorant and unlearned he is about the world, our government, treaties, economics, debt, etc. is because he never bothers to learn. I suppose when you've never had to because you've always been bailed out by Daddy, or a bank, or a television network, or a Russian Oligarch, why bother....And it continues even now with those who still think he gives a sh#t about them. They're so deep into the con they deny what's happening right before their eyes...
