Thread: Waive Visa Requirements for Bahama Hurricane Victims?

gina - 9/5/2019 at 02:18 AM

Marco Rubio and Rick Scott [FLORIDA] have asked Trump to waive Visa requirements for victims of Hurricane Dorian. Should he?

Will he be called a hypocrite if he does since he denies entry for people seeking refuge here from other lands. One could say well it is different for hurricane victims than others but Syria was/is a war zone.

We did not offer to waive Visa requirements for Haitians the last time that island was hit with a hurricane.

Does it come down to some nationalities are favored and others not or is the size of the disaster the determining factor. The people in Mona Passage Puerto Rico still live in ramshackle dwellings with tin roofs. No Visa waivers for them.

Is it more Britain's responsibility then ours? Oh but Brexit is coming. Britain is a US ally, who takes in the refugees? Canada as usual?

That depends on if they are going to have parades and erode American culture by wineing up on cops.

That might be how some of them got across the border!

What they do in the privacy of their home is their business, but they cannot be doing that out in the street in the open where there may be children who will see that. We don't expect the Rose Bowl parade from them but where do you draw the line? Pasties and crotch grinding is not appropriate in public.

Ok, Sister Mary Elephant

Look here brother, there are 70,000 people in need of everything in the Bahamas, they need someplace to live, they cannot live in the rubble that those islands have. Letting them come to Florida for awhile would be the humane thing for Trump to do. We are not asking him to put them up at Mar-a-Lago.

You talking to me? I say let em in. What you suddenly got an attack of conscience after electing this inhuman monster? That is on you.

How much of your money are you donating?

Now there's an idea. Put them up at Mar-a-Lago and charge the American taxpayers. Just another good way for the the Trumps to make money off the government which has been going on for 2 plus years now.

Cetainly Trump & his family are excluded from U.S. Constitution (Article I, Section 9, Paragraph 8). Why would this apply to the Trumps? They are a dynasty, royalty and above the law.

Why not put them up in tent cities in Guantanamo Bay? Put them on the same diet we have the Gitmo prisoners on. They might not want to leave.

I have noticed the policies that have been implemented/considered that I do not agree with, I think that is important for everyone to do.

Puerto Ricans are US citizens. They don't need a visa waiver because they can freely live anywhere in the US that they choose. Don't worry though, I don't think Trump knows this either. How can a bunch of brown skinned people who speak Spanish be American citizens? He doesn't own a resort there, so just throw them some paper towels.

gina - 9/10/2019 at 12:14 AM

Why do you suppose nothing was really done for certain parts of Puerto Rico and those people are still suffering, like those in Mona Passage? Why didn't Americans including the Puerto Ricans already here help them?

I think I already made it clear why I think the Trump Administration didn't help Puerto Rico more than it did. As for why Puerto Ricians in the US didn't help more, I would guess they were more concerned with helping their family and friends directly than donating to charities.

gina - 9/11/2019 at 10:09 PM

Sounds reasonable.

The problem with the Bahamian hurricane victims is they are not asking to come and stay here forever, they just need some place to go, and we are hearing them classified the same as the central american asylum seekers, there are bad people, gang members etc. Trump even said that people were going to the Bahamas just so they could try to sneak in here. I think that is not a big problem.
