Thread: This is why AOC is not qualified for her seat

A purely emotional argument vs. the law. It is your obligation as a duly elected official to know the law and uphold it. AOC is obviously unaware or chooses to remain ignorant.

Lord help us if she represents the future.

Hmmmm, trump has no understanding of the law, and doesn't care, no understanding of how government works, and no respect for "rule of law", but you are ok with that as long as Hillary didn't get the job............got it.

Uh, are you quoting yourself? Or are those air quotes?

Even dumber are the people who allow themselves to be caught up constantly bashing 1 out of 535 representatives. If there are others that are, uh, dumber than a box of rocks, then you should maybe spend sometime on the other 534 members rather than the latest GOP-targeted boogie (wo)man. But if it makes you feel less insecure to use a Congresswoman as a punching bag when there's a thick-headed President making a mockery of our government, keep at it.

You have your target, while others have different aim. Vote them all out, all 535 of them.

There it is, she was/is targeted because of her gender, not her ignorance.

It's not a "target" for me, Donald Trump actually represents me and my "district" and I disagree with much of what he does and the false things he says.

Ocasio-Cortez does not represent my district. If I were to constantly complain about her over so many other Representatives it would be pretty irrational.

This sure seems to bother you, yet no comment about Trump's completely baseless claim that windmills cause cancer. Why no comments about Trump being dumb as a box of rocks and unqualified to be in office when he makes up something stupid like windmills cause cancer? Is the president completely immune to being called out for saying something stupid, but when AOC, a single member of the house, says something that there have been actual scientific papers written on you feel the need to jump all over her? I have to wonder why? Is it slimply because she is Fox News' target of the month and all sheep must play along? Ok, if you think I she is dumb, fine...but you seem to like putting a target on her while giving the president a pass at every dumb thing he says. The hypocrisy is deafening.

Livestock methane emissions are a significant factor in methane output. The argument is not about "farting cows contributing to global warming" but whether or not methane is a "greenhouse gas" and where you stand on global warming. So it boils down to saying AOC is an idiot because she thinks global warming is partly caused by methane.

Whether or not global warming is a myth, many highly regarded and extremely intelligent scientists do support the idea that methane contributes to global warming. So AOC stated in layman's terms what many scientists are saying.

Though you may disagree with them, there are plenty of people who are concerned about global warming whom you would not ridicule for their position.

Why single out AOC then?

"Farting Cows are contributing to global warming"!

Let the voters get this fool

-"It means it gets tougher and tougher. Because politically, you can't give it away. So pre-existing conditions are a tough deal. Because you are basically saying from the moment of the insurance, you're 21 years old, you start working and you're paying $12 a year for insurance, and by the time you're 70, you get a nice plan. Here's something where you walk up and say, "I want my insurance." It's a very tough deal, but it is something that we're doing a good job of."

-"You're going to have absolute guaranteed coverage. You're going to have it if you're a person going indon't forget, this was not supposed to be the way insurance works. Insurance is, you're 20 years old, you just graduated from college, and you start paying $15 a month for the rest of your life and by the time you're 70, and you really need it, you're still paying the same amount and that's really insurance. But I believe it's very important to have this. Because one thing Obamacare did, is it gave that and it was a concept that people hadn't heard of. And now I don't want to end it. I don't want to end it for somebody that...first of all I don't want to end it for the people that already have it. And I don't want to end it for somebody that hasn't been buying insurance for all of his life where he has a guarantee that for all of his life he's been buying the insurance and he can buy it inexpensively when he turns 65 or 70 years old. So we put in a tremendous amount and we're...you know, for the pre-existing conditions. We are going to have a great pool for pre-existing conditions."

-"Obamacare. We're going to repeal it, we're going to replace it, get something great. Repeal it, replace it, get something great!"

-"But Obamacare kicks in in 2016. Really big league. It is going to be amazingly destructive. Doctors are quitting. I have a friend who's a doctor, and he said to me the other day, 'Donald, I never saw anything like it. I have more accountants than I have nurses. It's a disaster. My patients are beside themselves. They had a plan that was good. They have no plan now.'"

-"I'm not against vaccinations for your children, I'm against them in one massive dose. Spread them out over a period of time & autism will drop!"

-"The only way the government should be involved, they have to make sure those companies are financially strong, so that if they have catastrophic events or they have a miscalculation, they have plenty of money. Other than that, it's private."

-"If you can't take care of your sick in the country, forget it, it's all over. I mean, it's no good. So I'm very liberal when it comes to healthcare. I believe in universal healthcare. I believe in whatever it takes to make people well and better."

-"There's many different ways, by the way. Everybody's got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, 'No, no, the lower 25 percent that can't afford private' I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now."

-"The government's gonna pay for it. But we're going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it's going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything."

-"Because the drug companies have an unbelievable lobby. And these guys that run for office, that are on my left and right and plenty of others, they're all taken care of by the drug companies. And they're never going to put out competitive bidding. So I said to myself wow, let me do some numbers. If we competitively bid, drugs in the United States, we can save as much as $300 billion a year."

-"We could reduce taxes and take care of health care, and it would be beautiful, and you would have plenty of money left over."

-"[Health care] is an entitlement to this country, and too bad the world can't be, you know, in this country. But the fact is, it's an entitlement to this country if we're going to have a great country."

-"We're not going to have, like, a two-day period and we're not going to have a two-year period where there's nothing. It will be repealed and replaced. And we'll know. And it'll be great health care for much less money. So it'll be better health care, much better, for less money. Not a bad combination."

Think what you will about AOC, but unseating a long time well financed member of the Democratic establishment isn't usually done without a few smarts.....

As far as believing the constant fear mongering about AOC by Trump and the Trump network we used to call Fox News (and all the other right wing media), well, that perhaps is as ignorant as some of the statements coming from AOC.

"Then I have an Article 2, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president." -Donald Trump

You prefer "hands down" a person who refuses to understand the constitutional boundaries of the office even after two years of occupying it to ANY Democrat?

This is exactly the thinking that has ruined this country. This would be like a liberal saying that they would rather have Al Sharpton or Alec Baldwin be the president than John Kasich. If you think the country is better off with a LITERAL FOOL in office over a Democrat, you need your head checked. Why don't we just go ahead and outlaw being a Democrat if it is (in your opinion) worse than this? You really have undermined anyone's ability to believe that you are genuinely arguing for what is good for the country. Hating liberals is a fairly weak ambition.

The right perceived the election of Obama in 2008, and his widespread populatrity, as a serious threat to their secure way of life. A popular Obama, a diverse country, and a level playing field, equals the fall of the United States. Their race, gender, and religion have always been an advantage and a safety net. The thought that these things no longer mattered was too much to handle. The thought of having to survive on personal merit was frightening. So they elected Trump. Anything is better than losing those advantages. And they don't want to be criticized for that. They are already scared, so the left's criticism of their weaknesses knocked them over the edge. They needed to do something drastic to "fight back", and they did.

I think we need to let the right have 8 years of Trump. Let them get it out of their system in the same way we have to let toddlers cry themselves to sleep. Let them all do their thing. Let them feel strong, and let them feel like winners. Don't impeach, don't prosecute, otherwise they will destroy everything around them. Because I don't see how the Republican party will have anyone left in their corner in 2024 after after this. I think they know this, which is why they are going out kicking and screaming. The United States, through natural evolution, is moving towards diversity and inclusion. The election of Trump is the right's last desperate attempt to fight back against the inevitable. I feel for these folks who worry about this.

Enjoy the day.

I'm not the one stalking rock stars for autographs like a pathetic little b*tch, and crying about liberals every single day. It used to be a fun site until you came along and made it about yourself.

Would that be equal to, or less than referring to the duly elected President of the United States of America as a Nazi?

----I haven't called him a Nazi, only a racist - which he is. Which happens to be a problem when millions of his "constituents" are not white.

quote:
This is exactly the thinking that has ruined this country

This would be an interesting point for you to elaborate, I mean exactly how the Country has been "Ruined"...

---Maybe not ruined, but something is definitely wrong if our electorate does something as reckless as choosing a proudly ignorant failed casino operator whose biggest claims to fame were a dumb reality show and a racist conspiracy theory. Two years in and he knows very little about how our system of government works or the details of his own administration's policy proposals and implementations.

quote:
Why don't we just go ahead and outlaw being a Democrat if it is (in your opinion) worse than this?

What will this solve?..There will always be people easily sold on the argument the Government will provide for all. Health Care for everyone! (W/O raising taxes) Everyone gets $1,000 a month! $15 an hour minimum wage! Free Health care for Illegals! Let's forgive all student loans and make College free! Open Borders!

The tip of the iceberg...

---It was a rhetorical question... You agreed that having an unqualified fool as president was "hands down" better than any Democrat. If Democrats are so bad, let's just get rid of them, right?
Also, Trump ran on health care for everyone. Remember that "beautiful" plan? He also cut taxes while increasing spending, so where is your outrage about that?

quote:
you need your head checked

lol

---I'll stand by this one.

You have stated this, therefore it must be fact and everyone who stays silent instead of choosing to find fault with this "logic" must be in agreement. If one chooses to disagree and make those feelings known, how does the Liberal Left label these participants in the voting process?

I believe this is exactly why he is in the White House, because there is no political dialogue that does not end with anger and verbal abuse. He will more than likely win again based on the Democratic platform which seems to be full of extreme "solutions", "plans" and disdain.

I guess this is your best attempt at communicating like an Adult?

I've been here sharing music since 2006, you?

Enjoy the day

Just because people are sick of being called stupid (or racist), that does not mean that they are incapable of doing stupid things. Electing a person for a job that doesn't know anything about the job or have any real desire to learn is non-partisanly stupid. The Democrats are stupid for nominating someone so unpopular that she had a chance of losing to a completely unqualified moron.

So yes, there was a lot of stupid going around on both sides, but that somehow does not make voting for an unqualified buffoon less stupid. If I voted this time for Marianne Williamson for president and she ended up not being able to do the job, I wouldn't be surprised or offended that a lot of people might think I am stupid and irresponsible.

Says the guy who repeatedly goes out of his way to call a Congresswoman, "dumber than a box of rocks" without any cause, but rather as if it were fact. Of course, then claims to be a victim because some people disagree with your unsupported stance that you refuse to defend. You've essentially described yourself.

"stupid and irresponsible."..Certainly not, I am not passing Judgement on the Voter for casting a Ballot, in fact, right on for taking part in the Election. For me the glaring "weak point" is in the Leadership and the issues they choose to be placed in the forefront.

Look at that, we agree and not necessarily just Democrats, the Party machines, the decision makers. This is why I laugh out loud at the Left. President Trump is interesting because in his case, his party did everything in their power to keep him out of the White House, only the Voters are responsible for his being there and it is they who will probably re-elect him. "Stupid, thick headed racist Mid-westerners in small farming states"?....Or simply voters who refused to drink the Kool-Aid the other party was pouring?

I see it as disagreeing, your mileage may vary.

Add, our ideas on "Melting down" sure are different. lol

MarkRamsey - 8/24/2019 at 01:01 AM

Can we get a reality TV show sort of like Naked and Afraid with AOC and Richie Rich the stubby fingered, draft dodging, orange tub of lard stuck on a desert island? Must see TV !

BrerRabbit - 8/24/2019 at 01:59 AM

That would be a ratings bonanza.
