Thread: Murder Trial of Charlottesville Driver

BrerRabbit - 11/29/2018 at 05:45 PM

Opening statements today, should prove interesting. Fox does not seem to find it newsworthy though, not a word from them.

Check this out - do a search for "Murder Trial of Charlottesville Driver" EVERY major news outlet on the planet has a current headline on this, EXCEPT Fox. Zero. I have seen Fox pull these blackouts a lot, it is creepy as hell.

They should run that guy over with a car, back up and do it again and again until he is dead. Or act like they are going to save him after the first time or two, trick him, and then put him up and have him run over again. People like that deserve to die the way they have killed.

nebish - 11/30/2018 at 01:05 AM

I found a 4 day old Fox new story on page 8 of a google search. So yeah.

MartinD28 - 11/30/2018 at 01:21 AM

Didn't the self described genius say that there were good people on both sides in Charlottesville that day? Was he referring to Fields?

BrerRabbit - 11/30/2018 at 01:30 AM

Let it out brother!! Wow, 8 pages of search - sry to send you on the wild goose chase. Yeah I gave up on searching for Fox coverage a few pages in when I hit a 2 year old Fox bit on something vaguely related to the incident, an off topic defense of trump of some sort. Real weird, not covering it is a huge statement. A clever targeted jab specific to anyone sharp enough to notice. They act like Pravda.

"We don't report, so you can't decide".

They were having a fit trying to shoot holes in and deflect that Cohen story today. (Cohen really bad)

BrerRabbit - 11/30/2018 at 02:06 AM

Hahaha!!! Cohen REALLY bad? You make adverb, you talk more, you bad.

sckeys - 11/30/2018 at 02:37 AM

That was good. That’s the same cave man type of tweets the president sends.

nebish - 11/30/2018 at 04:20 AM

This terrorist can't be killed fast enough. How soon does he get executed? Shame we have to waste the expense on the trial.

BrerRabbit - 11/30/2018 at 04:26 AM

I'm good with your pretend to run him over a couple times then for real scenario.

BrerRabbit - 11/30/2018 at 03:33 PM

The car killer pleaded not guilty. His defense is he was scared.

Saw that. Head-scratcher. In the federal trial to follow the state, he told the judge he's on anxiety meds NOW not then. Not sure how he thinks that helps his case.

"Thinks" is the operative word here - I doubt someone like that has ever done much if any thinking. These types are pretty hardwired, reptile brains.

I can’t remember the movie this quote is from but,

“he can tell the prison psychiatrists all about it”

Super Soul:
And there goes the Challenger, being chased by the blue, blue meanies on wheels. The vicious traffic squad cars are after our lone driver, the last American hero, the electric centaur, the, the demi-god, the super driver of the golden west! Two nasty Nazi cars are close behind the beautiful lone driver. The police numbers are gettin' closer, closer, closer to our soul hero, in his soul mobile, yeah baby! They about to strike. They gonna get him. Smash him. Rape... the last beautiful free soul on this planet. - Vanishing Point, 1971

nebish - 12/8/2018 at 06:04 AM

Did I hear he faces a maximum life sentence? That isn't enough. He should be put to death. Among the other scum like him in prison he will probably be viewed as a hero in their twisted hateful circle of other white supremacist inmates. He shouldn't be afforded that. Run him over with a car.

Ah yes the George Zimmerman defense

Life sentence in this Virginia trial. Death penalty awaits in federal.

BrerRabbit - 12/10/2018 at 05:46 PM

Strange that the top death.penalty state of Virginia did not go for execution. Probably because it is a politically charged case. Real weird, since he pleaded Not Guilty - I figured he would get max sentence. My guess is he gets 20 to life in Federal as well, walks in ten for good behavior and positive psych eval, and a court order barring him from driving muscle cars.

So he got a little worked up. Let's keep this case low profile, so as not to create friction among the "good people on both sides".

Isn't this where folks are supposed to jump in and say the anti-fascists were misbehaving so the vehicular homicide of Heather is their fault? Weird - this is the first time I have seen this kind of apathy from the ubercon reactionaries here who are usually Johnny On the Spot with the defense of ultra-right extremists.

I was surprised, too, but think that Virginia now requires another felony in addition to murder (like abduction) for the death penalty. I could be wrong.

What I find even more outrageous is that the victim's father didn't think the state should seek the DP since Fields was "too young and stupid to understand his crime."

What's the IQ & age at which people are held accountable? According to Cohen's request for leniency for his sentencing, being 52 with a law degree is premature plus he "loves his kids."

Multiple counts of aggravated vehicular assault? The guy hit 20 people, some of whom are screwed for life. Gotta be some other felonies in this thing. Terrorism law ought to have something on it.

cyclone88 - 12/10/2018 at 10:47 PM

Strange to me, too. Seems they're counting on the feds.

BrerRabbit - 12/10/2018 at 11:24 PM

The Feds will downplay it - to keep everyone quiet. This guy is gonna do ten years ClubFed, max.

You are like so far off base on what is going to happen here that it is ridiculous.

BoytonBrother - 12/11/2018 at 06:47 PM

This racist nazi scum deserves the death penalty....cut them all out like the cancers they are.

Glad to say you could be right, he got life with 419 years extra, probably get out for good behavior when he is 99.

Movin on . . .

Check this out, I stumbled across this bit on Fox promoting car attacks, they deleted the video after the Charlottesville vehicular homicide, I couldn't find the exact video, probably just a comp of all the ones on youtube, but the bit of text written for the Daily Caller and posted by Fox is chilling as hell:

from Snopes https://www.snopes.com/news/2017/08/16/daily-caller-fox-news-delete-video-c elebrating-liberal-protesters-getting-pushed-way-cars/

link to Fox archive (video deleted, included for verification) //archive.is/4nwQz#selection-361.0-361.73

On 27 January 2017, the Daily Caller’s then-video editor Matt Raust penned a short piece (“Here’s A Reel Of Cars Plowing Through Protesters Trying To Block The Road”) that featured a compilation video of cars that, as the headline promised, were shown pushing their way through crowds of protesters. On 29 January 2017, Fox News ran the same story, which stated in its entirety:

"Here’s a compilation of liberal protesters getting pushed out of the way by cars and trucks. Study the technique; it might prove useful in the next four years"

The posts, which had already been shared widely when it was first published, resurfaced after the death of Heather Heyer — who was killed while protesting a neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Virginia on 12 August 2017, when a white nationalist reportedly intentionally rammed his car into a large group of counterprotesters. As a result, these article generated widespread anger online before they were deleted without any notice or explanation by 16 August 2017.

In a statement to CNN Money, Noah Kotch, the editor-in-chief of Fox News Digital, said:

"The item was inappropriate and we’ve taken it down. We regret posting it in January"

. . . Fox is just flat out bad news.
