Yes they ARE tight and polished. I think Gregg said he made a couple changes after this DVD and it was even better but man this is real fine on this song.

Leave your mind alone and just get high....on Eat A Peach. Gregg told AlPaul he didn't want to tell people to get high anymore so he changed it to "we'll all get by".

He loved that last Gregg & Friends band and would of loved to see them bring out All Compositions studio effort.

What an incredible band and Gregg himself said, "This is the band I have always wanted." I saw them several times and fortunately for all of us it is all documented with a sterling DVD, "Back To Macon."

What is unfortunate however is that Gregg did not clean up 30 or 40 years ago instead of 20 years ago. He just did way too much damage to his body, particularly his liver. Even a new liver could not save him. Otherwise we would all still be going to see this band.

A great DVD alright - one of my favorite parts is the band sans Gregg chowing down at the H & talking about their love of the ABB & this current band - they played a great show Jan. 2011 in Burlington Vt
The three CDs he did after cleaning up - Searchiní, Low Country & Southern Blood - xclnt one & all -

I saw his band with Marc Q multiple times in Gregg's final 6 years.

Three memorable ones:

December 2012 at the Peace Center in Greenville, SC - Jaimoe's Jassz Band opened - Gregg was remarkably strong after having looked very weak during his book tour. Both bands sounded great in a beautiful theatre.

September 2014 - MusicMidtown in Atlanta - Gregg had hurt hand his for his final 2 ABB Wanee shows in April 2014 (with Kofi Burbridge joining for each ABB show to supplement keys). Gregg sounded good that April, but wasn't 100%. By Sept 2014, he had bounced back yet again and Gregg & his band sounded great. I knew this would bode well for the ABB finale at the Beacon the next month.

April 2016 - Wanee - A wonderful Gregg & friends show with Warren and Jack both sitting in. Gregg had that "strut" as he went to grab his guitar mid stage during the show. It was a triumphant farewell Gregg show at Spirit of Suwanee (though we didn't know at that time).

The last time I seen Gregg and Band was Mach 17, 2015 and it was just fantastic, to find out how sick he was, unreal...........Peace.........joe

Great posts all around, that voice so solid, strong, I was one of them that thought all Gregg had to do was sit at the organ and open his mouth and it was all right there for him, the untold decades and centuries of Blues just flowed out, I was surprised when I read that Gregg stated he worked very hard to bring Them Blues to us???
